If we work to strip religion of power, we have taken a big step toward positive change.

I agree with Sir Acton:  “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.”

Rabbi Rami will engage in frank, humorous discussions on what it means to be a spiritual human being in the modern world on Unity Online Radio .

John Emerich Edward Dalberg-Acton, 1st Baron Acton, KCVO, DL ( 1834 – 1902 ), known as Sir John Dalberg-Acton, 8th Bt from 1837 to 1869 and usually referred to simply as Lord Acton, was an English Catholic historian, politician, and writer. He was the only son of Sir Ferdinand Dalberg-Acton, 7th Baronet and a grandson of the Neapolitan admiral Sir John Acton, 6th Baronet. He is famous for his remark, often misquoted: "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."[*]
[*]Letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton, April 5, 1887 published in Historical Essays and Studies, edited by J. N. Figgis and R. V. Laurence (London: Macmillan, 1907)

“If told we are not yet capable of understanding something it is not an insult to our intelligence but a helpful step toward eventual understanding." VH

Never be suspicious of anybody. The more you believe in them the surer they will be to do right by you. This ought to be your motto: "Shall not the judge of all the earth do right?"ECH
