Dr. J.R. Buchanan discovers, that of a class of 130, 43 of them experience the effects of substances (medicines, heavy metals, sugar, salt, pepper, acids) while holding an envelope in their hands containing same. The effects are the same as if they digested or administered them by normal means. Certain people were acutely sensitive and could distinguish and name the various substances.
