The individual begins life as a child, thinking childish things. As he develops into manhood he thinks as a man.
It is with the race as with the individual. Its consciousness is at first immature, but is ever ripening. Ideas are changing because of this growth. Truth is not changing, for it is unalterable. Man's conception of truth varies.
Who would have it otherwise? Who would wish to retard a child's natural growth, or to restrict the development of the race in consciousness? This growth must enter into the domain of religious ideas as well as into all other realms.
The present universal fermentation of religious thought is due to this increasing consciousness of the race. What place has Divine Science in the advancing ideas? Many steps have led from the first consciousness to the final understanding of truth. Divine Science knows itself to be a final step into the full consciousness to which the race is now awakening.
Divine Science is a perfect and complete science. In its reasoning it never departs from its basis or premise. It judges of truth wholly from principle, and teaches the divine law and order of demonstration.

 Today most commercial flying is done on a radio beam. A directional beam is produced to guide the pilot to his destination, and as long as he keeps on this beam he knows that he is safe, even if he cannot see around him for fog, or get his bearings in any other way.

For learning purposes, let us consider the crucifixion again. I did not dwell on it before because of the fearful connotations you may associate with it. The only emphasis laid upon it so far has been that it was not a form of punishment. Nothing, however, can be explained in negative terms only. There is a positive interpretation of the crucifixion that is wholly devoid of fear, and therefore wholly benign in what it teaches, if it is properly understood.

not true, is not real, and must be rejected as false.

 Grace Mann Brown ( 1859 – 1925 ) was an American writer and spiritual leader. Her work was related to the New Thought Movement, Divine Science and Christian Science. Much of her work focused on spirituality, metaphysics, mysticism, esoteric and occult sciences.

The Atonement, or AT-ONE-MENT

It always seems to us as if our viewpoint is right and the other viewpoint, regardless of who holds it, is wrong. No viewpoint is ever “the truth”. Your viewpoint is never “the truth", and conversely, the other person’s point of view isn’t “the truth” either. In fact, no viewpoint is ever “the truth” because a point of view is a belief and no belief is ever the truth.  A belief is a statement about reality that feels like the truth.  It is the meaning we have given to an event or series of events, none of which have any inherent meaning.
