The International New Thought Alliance (INTA) is a global organization dedicated to the spiritual enlightenment and transformation of the individual and the world since 1914. Its purpose is to promote cooperation, provide a basis for common effort of the various units of the New Thought world, promote those activities that cannot of their very nature be accomplished by each group or individual alone, disseminate and publish the good news of New Thought, and build a spiritual fellowship that will secure the respect of all human beings.

Only the good is real.

WORDS of Truth written or spoken from a consciousness of the absolute reality of the substance in them, do more than satisfy the intellect or the senses. They are God’s means of bringing to pass the very Good about which they are uttered.

The Rich Mentality

Some twenty-five years ago, when I took my first primary course of lessons, but one mighty thought remained fully mine at its close. In the newness of the idea, I had lost sight of the many , explanations given, while retaining clearly this one substance thought, "Only the good is real." This I ardently concentrated upon and practiced for the benefit of myself and others, almost without a break, for six months. Every horse, dog, cat, as well as person or experience, I came in contact with during that period, was blessed with this understanding of its real nature, until the thought became a fixed, abiding consciousness and substance for hundreds of future demonstrations. Again and again has this statement risen spontaneously from its hidden depths in the sub-conscious storehouse of my mind, to meet successfully the mortal claims of fear, distress, danger, pain and temptation.

One instance will show what a friend such a power will prove in time of need. One night, but recently, returning home late from a lecture, a large dog, suffering apparently from madness, rushed furiously at me from the opposite side of the street. His mouth was wide open to bite and his hair stood on end while his eyes flashed fire. Wisdom guided me to stand still and affirm the protecting power of the All-Good silently. The change was instantaneous; it had a wonderful effect upon the dog, for just as he sprang to bite, his mouth closed, his eyes softened and looked the apology he could not speak, his tail fell between his legs in fright, and he turned and ran away rapidly as one who is ashamed. In thanksgiving and praise it occurred to me that not only had my immediate thought protected me, but that back of it lay the power of those many true words spoken to dogs in the long ago.

Mind Healing

Real life began for me when the message contained in this book was revealed. It was a veritable new birth, and I owe all that I am and have to its light. From a negative condition of self-depreciation and gloom, this message has lifted me into immortal faith in my own possibility and that of all men. In meekness and gratitude to God, and to those blessed souls who became avenues of His revelation to me, I send forth this little book, trusting that others may find through it the joy of life.

For over twenty years these lessons have been given, in individual and class instruction, to thousands of students, and it was largely because of the demand for them that I under- took the work of having them published. For one year past they have been running as a serial in the magazine, "The Master Mind" (Los Angeles, Mrs. Annie Rix Militz).

Through the application of the principles taught herein I have had the satisfaction of seeing the weak in character made strong, dross turned to pure gold, every form of misery and disease healed, and hope, faith and love, take the place of doubt, despair and material- ism. In the larger field of its activity, my prayer is that the harvest from this message may be great and that you, dear reader, may find in it a key to the solution of your problems.

Annie Rix Militz and Harriet Hale Rix held an expansive view of faith and healing. The two sisters were educated through the spiritual movements of Emma Curtis Hopkins and Mary Baker Eddy, pioneers in New Thought Metaphysics.

They also were catalysts in the Unity Movement and what was to become the rich spiritual vein of New Thought.

Right thinking is health, joy, freedom, prosperity. Prosperity does not consist in the things you possess in the money you have in bank. In fact, we might say from a very free standpoint, that if you absolutely understand prosperity you have no need of any bank account. Prosperity is a way, a mode, of thinking. So is poverty. You are poor if you class yourself this way, and you are rich if you can think rich thoughts, thoughts that are constructive, optimistic, unlimited these instantly crown you successful. The mentality must first be rich towards God rich in God-knowledge and consciousness. I cannot think of wealth and prosperity and success as a lasting possession to those who are callous regarding the spiritual life. Dr. Bucke[1], who studied cosmic consciousness for over thirty years, states that in all his examinations of men and women he has never come across a single case of cosmic consciousness where the individual was bent on making money; whose whole conception of life was accumulation.

"The Master Christian"

Henry Victor Morgan was born in 1865. Henry Morgan was widely known as a metaphysical preacher of the early 20th century. Henry Morgan and his wife published "The Master Christian" from the early 1920s until his wife's death in 1931. After that it was published only intermittently. He was minister to the Church of the Healing Christ in Tacoma, Washington, until 1952. In 1912 Henry Victor Morgan took the pulpit. He changed the church allegiance from Universalist to Divine Science and the name of the church to Church of the Healing Christ. He died in 1952.

Rev. Victor Henry Morgan of Tacoma, Washington, a Universalist pastor in good standing, preaches from his pulpit the New Thought philosophy, and practises mental healing; but prefers to stay in the organization to which he belongs.

The convention of 1912 was held in Los Angeles. Mr. Douglass, in sending out the call for this convention, stated that all New Thought societies were cordially invited to send delegates, pointing out that the invitation applied to all bodies holding similar views, "though they may not adopt the same name. . . . This is the first time that the East and the West come together in a mutual understanding and fellowship, for a larger and more aggressive propagandism; and marked results are looked for."
The meetings of the convention began June 25 and continued until June 30. The subjects for the chief sessions were, The Divine Man, The Resurrecting Power, Unity, Joy and Beauty, Peace; and the speakers included Myra G. Frenyear[1], William Farwell, Harriet Hale Rix, Alfred Tomson, Harry Gaze, Clinton A. Billig, Henry Frank, Mrs. M. E. T. Chapin, C. Josephine Barton, Anna. W. Mills, James Porter Mills, A. P. Barton, and Henry Victor Morgan.
