Healing #2

People differ greatly in their definition of Christian and in their Christology, or definition of who Jesus was. Whether New Thoughters consider themselves Christians or not, New Thought as a philosophical-religious movement derives mainly from Christianity.
The founders of all the New Thought denominations except Seicho-No-Ie[1][2] came from Christian backgrounds, as did P. P. Quimby, without whom there would have been no New Thought. He did not seek to found a movement; he sought to heal people of physical and mental or spiritual ailments. To aid himself in this undertaking, he began to study the Bible on his own in order to refute the toxic beliefs that he realized were making his patients sick. In the course of this study, Quimby discovered much truth that had been lost from conventional Christianity and he grew spiritually.
Deb Whitehouse “New Thought Magazine[2006]”

According to the radio the other day 70% of Americans consider themselves Christians but don’t go to church.

Who was Fred S. Ellmore?

Fred S. Ellmore wrote of “The Indian rope trick” in 1890, gaining the Chicago Tribune wide publicity. About four months later, the Tribune printed a retraction and proclaimed the story a hoax. However, the retraction received little attention, and in the following years many claimed to remember having seen the trick as far back as the 1850s. None of these stories proved credible, but with every repetition the story became more ingrained.

Penn and Teller ( I love these guys ) examined the rope trick while filming their three-part CBC mini-series, Penn & Teller's Magic and Mystery Tour. The tour travelled the world investigating historical tricks, and while in India they travelled to Calcutta where they recreated the trick.

Penn and Teller invited two British tourists shopping nearby to see what they claimed was a fakir performing the trick. As they walked back, an assistant ran up and claimed the fakir was in the midst of the trick, so they rushed the rest of the way so they wouldn't miss it. As the witnesses neared the room they dropped a thick rope from a balcony . The witnesses saw what they thought was the end of the trick, the rope falling as if it had been in mid-air seconds before.

What had they missed?
Absolutely nothing. It was meant to infer they missed the performance. The reality was nothing happened. It was all staged.

Even H. P. Blavatsky was lured into it (September, 1890) never getting the “Fred S. Ellmore” punch line.

You see, Fred S. Ellmore was a pseudonym used by John Elbert Wilkie.

The inside joke being:

She eluded it to hypnosis rather that the power of suggestion.

FAKE SCHOOLS:

George Gurdjieff ( 1866 – 1949) indicated that there are fake schools where the teacher either:
May be genuinely mistaken and think that he knows something, when in reality he knows nothing.
• May believe another man, who in his turn may be mistaken.
• May deceive consciously.

These teachers lead nowhere, except making the students believe that they are going somewhere.

"It is impossible to recognize a wrong way without knowing the right way. This means that it is no use troubling oneself how to recognize a wrong way. One must think of how to find the right way."

A PROSPERITY MEDITATION FOR GATHERING YOUR MANNA

"WHEN I FIND MYSELF IN A FINANCIAL WILDERNESS, IT IS BECAUSE I AM PREPARING FOR A GREATER ABUNDANCE THAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN BEFORE. MY WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE IS MY DIVINE INITIATION INTO THE HIGHER LEVELS OF SUPPLY. I AM BEING FREED FROM ALL FEAR OF LACK. AS I LOOK TO GOD FOR GUIDANCE AND SUPPLY, I AM BECOMING FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT ON A DAILY BASIS.

"I CAN GATHER MY MANNA BY FIRST USING SOMETHING CLOSE AT HAND TO MEET MY NEED. BE IT EVER SO HUMBLE, WHEN I USE WHAT IS CLOSE AT HAND, MY GOOD MULTIPLIES. I CAN BEGIN TO GATHER MY MANNA BY DOING SOMETHING FEARLESS. THE ACT OF BLESSING WHAT IS ON HAND INCREASES IT MIGHTILY. SOMETHING MYSTERIOUS HAPPENS WHEN I BLESS THE SUBSTANCE AT HAND. INSTEAD OF ENVYING ANOTHER'S PROSPERITY, I OPEN THE WAY FOR INCREASED SUPPLY TO COME TO ME.

"SINCE WORDS ARE CREATIVE, I CAN GATHER MY MANNA THROUGH SPEAKING FORTH DEFINITE, RICH WORDS OF SUPPLY, EVEN IN THE FACE OF LACK. MY MANNA IS ALWAYS SOMETHING CLOSE AT HAND, AND I ALWAYS HAVE IN MY IMMEDIATE MIDST WHATEVER IS NEEDED TO BEGIN GATHERING MY MANNA. AS I BLESS THE MANNA CLOSE AT HAND AND FEARLESSLY USE IT, IT MULTIPLIES. LORD, I DO GIVE THANKS FOR THE ABUNDANCE THAT IS MINE NOW!"

the Power

"You are a spiritual being embodying all of the Power of the Universe within you. Will you not accept the Truth and start living as the Light of the world that you are? The Dawn is approaching...it is time to awaken to your Inheritance." ~ John Randolph Price

John Randolph Price is an internationally know lecturer and author of eighteen nonfiction books incorporating ancient wisdom, contemporary metaphysics, and spiritual philosophy.

There is a way out of human suffering, and any earnest person can find it.

Vernon Linwood Howard (1918 - 1992) was an American spiritual teacher, author, and philosopher.

You've heard it said that things have to get worse sometimes before they can get better; that the getting worse process is actually a part of the improvement process; that what seems failure is actually success being born in the situation. That's chemicalization!

It seems as though everything begins to go wrong at once. This may be disconcerting, but it is really a good sign. Suppose your whole world seems to rock on its foundation. Hold on steadily, and let it rock, and when the rocking is over, the picture will have reassembled itself into something much nearer to your heart's desire. ~ Emmet Fox

Chemicalization means that things are coming out In a better state of affairs than ever before. Regardless of what seems to be happening, It never means anything else. When a physical or mental disturbance arises after your deliberate use of right thinking, it is always a sign that your right thinking is at work clearing out the negative, so that the positive power of good can gain complete dominion of your world. From “Catherine Ponder Speaks . . .”

Catherine Ponder is considered one of America's foremost inspirational authors. She has written more than a dozen books, which include such bestsellers as her Millionaires of the Bible series. She is a minister of the non-denominational Unity faith and has been described as "the Norman Vincent Peale among lady ministers." She has served in Unity Churches since 1956, and heads a global ministry in Palm Desert, California.

Many years ago, Emma Curtis Hopkins gave some financial advice along this line when she wrote, "Take your business as it is, and praise divine love that there is a strong, wise way out of your dilemma." When there is such a need, affirm, "I praise divine love that there is a strong, wise way out of this dilemma."
In all phases of life, love is a success power. Many persons who are seeking a balanced life have found this prayer helpful: "Divine love expressing through me, now draws to me all that is needed to make me happy and my life complete."
Whatever your need in life may be, love is the answer. You do not have to look outside yourself for love. Begin releasing it from within your own thoughts and feelings, and you will attract to you whatever people, situations, and conditions are for your highest good. Truly, "You walk in the charmed circle of God's love, and you are divinely irresistible to your highest good now." This is the prospering power of love. James Dillet Freeman (1912-2003)Internationally acclaimed poet, author, and lecturer.
The "Poet Laureate" of Unity
Freeman spent most of his life working for Unity in a wide variety of roles. He was hired as a teenager in 1929 by Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, after she read some of his early poetry.
He had his work taken to the moon twice, a distinction he shares with no other author. His 1941 Prayer for Protection was taken aboard Apollo 11 in July 1969 by Lunar Module pilot Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr. Aldrin had the poem with him when he made his historic moonwalk! Two years later, Jim's 1947 poem “I Am There” went to the moon with Colonel James B. Irwin on Apollo 15. Irwin left a microfilm copy of the poem on the moon.
Do you need Me ?
I am there.

You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.
You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands.

I am at work, though you do not understand My ways.
I am at work, though you do not understand My works.
I am not strange visions. I am not mysteries.

Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me
as I AM, and then but as a feeling and a faith.

Yet I am here. Yet I hear. Yet I answer.
When you need ME, I am there.
Even if you deny Me, I am there.
Even when you feel most alone, I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.
Even in your pain, I am there.

I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.
I am in you, and you are in Me.
Only in your mind can you feel separate from Me, for
only in your mind are the mists of "yours" and "mine".
Yet only with your mind can you know Me and experience Me.

Empty your heart of empty fears.
When you get yourself out of the way, I am there.
You can of yourself do nothing, but I can do all.
And I AM in all.

Though you may not see the good, good is there, for
I am there. I am there because I have to be, because I AM.

Only in Me does the world have meaning; only out of Me does the world take form; only because of ME does the world go forward.
I am the law on which the movement of the stars and the growth of living cells are founded.

I am the love that is the law's fulfilling. I am assurance.
I am peace. I am oneness. I am the law that you can live by.
I am the love that you can cling to. I am your assurance.
I am your peace. I am ONE with you. I am.

Though you fail to find ME, I do not fail you.
Though your faith in Me is unsure, My faith in you never
wavers, because I know you, because I love you.

Beloved, I AM there.

The Recipe For "Success."

Man should not be blinded to whatsoever merit exists in the opportunity which he hath in hand, remembering that a thousand promises for the future should weigh as naught against the possession of a single piece of silver.

Fortune is ever elusive, and can only be re-tained by force. Deal with her tenderly and she will forsake you for a stronger man. (In that, me- thinks, she is not unlike other women of my knowledge.)

Failure exists only in the grave. Man, being alive, hath not yet failed; always he may turn about and ascend by the same path he descended by; and there may be one that is less abrupt (albeit longer of achievement), and more adaptable to his condition.

Seek comrades among the industrious, for those who are idle will sap your energies from you.

The Ishmaelite and the leper are the same, since both are abominations in the sight of man, - albeit they differ much, in that the former may be restored to perfect health. The former is entirely the result of imagination; the latter has poison in his blood.

Whatsoever you desire of good is yours. You have but to stretch forth your hand and take it.

Frederick Van Rensselaer Dey
(1861-1922)

Born in Watkins Glen, New York, Frederick was educated at the Havana (N. Y.) Academy, and later was graduated from the Law School of Columbia University.

Dey took up story writing for amusement while convalescing from a serious illness, and later made it his life work.

Two of his earlier books, "The Magic Word" and "The Magic Story," written in 1899, were extremely popular.

Broke, and with no market for his stories after the passing of the dime-novel era, Dey shot himself in his room in the Hotel Broztell, New York City, some time in the night of April 25-26, 1922.

And therein lies the rub. What authors often associated with New Thought were merely writing to make money as opposed to writing with compassion and conviction of the living Truth.

Fillmore, Cramer, Brooks, Cady, Fox, Murphy, Hopkins, Holmes, Butterworth all clearly fall into the last category.

Dey, Atkinson, Wattles and others may or may not fall into the 1st.

And the same principal applies unequivocally today.
All is mind and the real power is within.
As is the Father.

The Metal Chest

Brown Landone (1847-1945)

Dr. Landone was a prolific writer, authoring more than 100 books, covering such subjects as Leadership, Civilization, Peace and Religion. Among them are such titles as "Your Path Direct to Your Goal," "The Methods of Truth Which I Use," "Transforming Your Life in 24 Hours," "The A B C of Truth," and "Spiritual Revelations of the Bible."

When he was about thirteen, something happened that started the boy thinking in a new way. Prior to this time he had had nurses around the clock. They got him up, dressed him, and led him to a chair. He sat there while he ate a simple meal and as soon as it was finished a nurse got him back into bed for a nap. Young Brown lived the usual routine of an invalid.

One day, when he and a nurse were alone in the house, the nurse discovered that a bottle of the boy's special medicine was empty. She asked him if he would be all right while she went to the drugstore some distance away. He assured her that he would.

When the nurse had been gone less than five minutes, Brown began to smell smoke and knew that something was on fire. He remembered that his father had instructed the servants concerning one important thing they must do if ever the house caught fire. He had told them that a metal chest in the attic contained every valuable paper he possessed. They were to get that metal chest out.

The boy, with the smell of smoke in his nostrils, could think of nothing but the metal chest. He was not aware of the events that followed his concerned thoughts until he found himself standing on the sidewalk beside the precious box. He suddenly realized that he, the supposed invalid, had gone to the attic, two floors above his bedroom and five floors from the street. There he had picked up the heavy chest and carried it to the sidewalk. When he came to the realization of what his subconscious mind had caused him to do, he fainted dead away.

In later years, he told that at the time of the fire he had awakened to the fact that he had performed an extraordinary feat without any conscious awareness of it. If he could do that subconsciously when he was ill, he reasoned, he certainly could do it consciously. He decided that he was not going back to bed except to sleep at night, and he never did. Brown Landone, the mature man, was perfectly well and happy until the end of his days.

The Fourth Way

There are three recognized ways of self-development generally known in esoteric circles. These are:
1. Way of the Fakir, dealing exclusively with the physical body.
2. Way of the Monk, dealing with the emotions.
3. Way of the Yogi, dealing with the mind.

What is common about the three ways is that they demand complete seclusion from the world. According to George Ivanovich Gurdjieff, there is a Fourth Way which does not demand its followers to abandon the world. The work of self-development takes place right in the midst of ordinary life. Gurdjieff called his system a school of the Fourth Way where a person learns to work in harmony with his physical body, emotions and mind. P.D. Ouspensky picked up this idea and continued his own school along this line.

George Ivanovich Gurdjieff ( 1866 – 1949) was a mystic and spiritual teacher. He called his discipline "The Work" (connoting "work on oneself") according to Gurdjieff's principles and instructions, or (originally) the "Fourth Way". At one point he described his teaching as "esoteric Christianity".

Gurdjieff claimed that people cannot perceive reality in their current states because they do not possess consciousness but rather live in a state of a hypnotic "waking sleep". "Man lives his life in sleep, and in sleep he dies." As a result of this condition, each person perceives things from a completely subjective perspective. Gurdjieff stated that maleficent events such as wars and so on could not possibly take place if people were more awake. He asserted that people in their typical state function as unconscious automatons (a self-operating machine or robot), but that one can "wake up" and become a different sort of human being altogether.

The Fourth Way teaches people how to increase and focus their attention and energy in various ways, and to minimize daydreaming and absentmindedness. According to this teaching, this inner development in oneself is the beginning of a possible further process of change, whose aim is to transform a man into what Gurdjieff taught he ought to be.

The Fourth Way II

Peter D. Ouspensky (1878–1947), a Russian esoteric philosopher known for his expositions of the early work of George Gurdjieff, whom he met in Moscow in 1915. After Ouspensky broke away from Gurdjieff, he taught the "Fourth Way", as he understood it, to his independent groups.
P.D. Ouspensky made the term "Fourth Way" and its use central to his own teaching of the ideas of Gurdjieff. He greatly focused on Fourth Way schools and their existence throughout history.

The Fourth Way mainly addresses the question of people's place in the Universe, their possibilities for inner development, and transcending the body to achieve a higher state of consciousness. It emphasized that people live their lives in a state referred to as "waking sleep", but that higher levels of consciousness and various inner abilities are possible.

Rodney Collin (1909–1956) was a British writer in the area of spiritual development. His work was heavily influenced by his teacher, P. D. Ouspensky, and through him, G. I. Gurdjieff, and their system of spiritual development. Rodney Collin is one of the most well known of Ouspenky's students, and a prolific writer.
Collin's best known work, “The Theory of Celestial Influence”, was an ambitious attempt to unite astronomy, physics, chemistry, human physiology, and world history with his own version of planetary influences.

Maurice Nicoll (1884–1953) was a British psychiatrist, author and noted Fourth Way teacher. Though Nicoll advocated the theories of the Fourth Way he also maintained interests in essential Christian teachings, in Neoplatonism and in dream interpretation until the end of his life.

Divine Love

All through his life Henry Thomas Hamblin had experienced visionary experiences where he came in contact with a Divine Presence : " ... It is not possible to describe such an experience," he wrote. " All care, anxiety and fear vanished, and I felt that I was cradled in Divine Love.... The deep peace of the Eternal flowed through me like a river; yet at the same time it was as though I was being carried along on a stream of Divine Bliss..."

Hamblin believed that there is a source of abundance within which, when contacted, could change a person's entire life. As long as people blamed their circumstances they were stuck in the 'victim role', but if they moved in harmony with their inner source their life could be full of abundance and harmony.

His experience had taught him that if the mind worked in harmony with the Divine, then everything you needed flowed towards you.
"We cannot live for ourselves alone; indeed, we begin really to live only when we live for others - for the Whole. It is your privilege and mine to be co-workers with God in leading souls to a realisation of their Divine Kinship and Oneness with the Source of all"

Henry Thomas Hamblin (1873 - 1958) was an English mystic, "New Thought" author, and founder of magazine "The Science of Thought Review", which achieved wide readership.

WAITING

SERENE, I fold my hands and wait,
Nor care for wind, nor tide, nor sea;
I rave no more 'gainst time or fate,
For, lo! my own shall come to me.

I stay my haste, I make delays,
For what avails this eager pace?
I stand amid the eternal ways,
And what is mine shall know my face.

Asleep, awake, by night or day,
The friends I seek are seeking me;
No wind can drive my bark astray,
Nor change the tide of destiny.

What matter if I stand alone?
I wait with joy the coming years;
My heart shall reap where it hath sown,
And garner up its fruit of tears.

The waters know their own and draw
The brook that springs in yonder height;
So flows the good with equal law
Unto the soul of pure delight.

The stars come nightly to the sky;
The tidal wave unto the sea;
Nor time, nor space, nor deep, nor high,
Can keep my own away from me.

John Burroughs (1837 – 1921) was an American naturalist and essayist important in the evolution of the U.S. conservation movement. Maybe the most important practitioner after Thoreau of that especially American literary genre, the nature essay.

Ghosts

It was about the year 1875, when I was a young Assistant Commissioner in the Punjab, that I was ordered to the small up-country station of Akalpur, 1 and took possession of the Assistant Commissioner's bungalow there, On the night of our arrival in the bungalow, my wife and I had our charpoys--light Indian bedsteads--placed side by side in a certain room and went to bed. The last thing I remembered before falling asleep, was seeing my wife sitting up in bed, reading with a lamp on a small table beside her.

Suddenly I was awakened by the sound of a shot, and starting up, found the room in darkness. I immediately lit a candle which was on a chair by my bedside, and found my wife still sitting up with the book on her knee, but the lamp had gone out.

"Take me away, take me into another room," she exclaimed.
"Why, what is the matter?" I said.
"Did you not see it?" she replied.
"See what?" I asked.
"Don't stop to ask any questions," she replied; "get me out of this room at once; I can't stop here another minute."

I saw she was very frightened, so I called up the servants, and had our beds removed to a room on the other side of the house, and then she told me what she had seen. She said: "I was sitting reading as you saw me, when looking round, I saw the figure of an Englishman standing close by my bedside, a fine-looking man with a large fair moustache and dressed in a grey suit. I was so surprised that I could not speak, and we remained looking at each other for about a minute. Then he bent over me and whispered: "Don't be afraid," and with that there was the sound of a shot, and everything was in darkness.

"My dear girl, you must have fallen asleep over your book and been dreaming," I said.
"No, I was wide awake," she insisted; "you were asleep, but I was awake all the time. But you heard the shot, did you not?"
"Yes," I replied, "that is what woke me--some one must have fired a shot outside."
"But why should any one be shooting in our garden at nearly midnight?" my wife objected.

It certain seemed strange, but it was the only explanation that suggested itself; so we had to agree to differ, she being convinced that she had seen a ghost, and that the shot had been inside the room, and I being equally convinced that she had been dreaming, and that the shot had been fired outside the house.

The next morning the owner of the bungalow, an old widow lady, Mrs. La Chaire, called to make kindly enquiries as to whether she could be of any service to us on our arrival. After thanking her, my wife said: "I expect you will laugh at me, but I cannot help telling you there is something strange about the bungalow"; and she then went on to narrate what she had seen.

Instead of laughing the old lady looked more and more serious as she went on, and when she had done asked to be shown exactly where the apparition had appeared. My wife took her to the spot, and on being shown it old Mrs. La Chaire exclaimed: "This is the most wonderful thing I have ever heard of. Eighteen years ago my bed was on the very spot where yours was last night, and I was lying in it too ill to move, when my husband, whom you have described most accurately, stood where you saw him and shot himself dead."
This statement of the widow convinced me that my wife had really seen what she said she had, and had not dreamed it; and this experience has led me to make further enquiries into the nature of happenings of this kind, with the result, that after carefully eliminating all cases which could be accounted for in any other manner, I have found myself compelled to admit a considerable number of instances of what are called "ghosts," on the word of persons whose veracity and soundness of judgment I should not doubt on any other subject. It is often said that you never meet any one who has himself seen a ghost, but only those who have heard of somebody else seeing one. This I can entirely contradict, for I have met with many trustworthy persons of both sexes, who have given me accounts of such appearances having been actually witnessed by themselves.
In conclusion, I may mention that I was telling this story some twenty years later to a Colonel Fox, who had known the unfortunate man who committed suicide, and he said to me: "Do you know what were the last words he said to his wife?" "No," I replied.

"The very same words he spoke to your wife," said Colonel Fox.

Many of my readers, I daresay, will smile at the mention of ghosts, but I can assure them that there is a good deal of reality in ghosts, especially to the ghosts themselves. Remember that if there are such things as ghosts, they were once people such as you and I are today; and the practical point is that the reader may be a ghost himself before very long. Therefore one of my objects in the present chapter is to show how to avoid becoming a ghost.

ONENESS.

There is only ONE. There are no separations, no divisions, no separate peoples, races, nations, tongues, or tribes, except to the ‘who’ who is dreaming in the box. God is ALL IN ALL. ONE. You have simply forgotten What you are!GOD IN A BOX [2003]” BY: Jane Woodward

The belief that we are human beings living in human bodies, seeing through human eyes is the "lie" we have bought into! All opposites are an illusion, a dream-state of mind. To believe that there is good and evil, birth and death, rich and poor, young and old, up and down, light and dark, lack and plenty is "thinking,” is "taking thought,” and is "living" under a mind-set called "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”BUY THE TRUTH AND SELL IT NOT” [Jane Woodward]

THINK

All Industry is rapidly learning that great lesson of the necessity of keeping as true a balance in all of its relations as it keeps in its ledgers. I know of no large organization that is not as earnestly striving to unify its human relations within its walls as it is without. This condition can only be brought about by a better understanding, not only between the makers of a product but also between the users of them.

CHILD/ADULT/PARENT

In terms of TA the CHILDren of Egypt have become ADULTs. Or maybe the ADULTs merely decided they don’t need a PARENT but merely another ADULT leading them. Time will tell. Erik Erikson coined the phrase the Mid-life crisis.

Being Autonomous

I`ve been reading and studying Transactional Analysis since discovering the work of Eric Berne was a major influence on the book ``Celestine Prophecy``.

TA assumes 3 ego states: theChild/theParent/theAdult.

In adulthood you live in the Adult stage(the NOW). In time of stress you may revert to either Child or Parent depending on your internal frame of reference and baggage you haven’t dealt with. This is always the PAST. If you disagree with someone and can both stay in theAdult state, no harm no foul. Getting a 3 page email or letter from someone “If only you...”, “you should ...”, “you never ...” are a pretty clear indication of theChild. Someone who says: “You ... “ and then roles their eyes is in theChild state. If you rationally discuss things you are in theAdult state. So be aware of how you react. When my Dad died one brother went into the Parent state, dictating to the other two, deciding when the money would be distributed. The othe two defencively went into Child. I stayed as Adult trying to act as mediator and peace maker.

To further complicate things you, subconsciously, created a role for yourself. thePersecutor/theRescuer/theVictim [PVR]. And people love to identify with games.Of course like attracts like so if Rescuer attracts Rescuer then one may slip into Persecutor making the other Victim or any number of other possibilities. The point is to realize it's a game and decide how you are willing to play. You can just walk away.[Sidenote: PVR are the airline initials for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico]

An alcoholic or Drug addict has built numerous roles into their game playing:
theAlcoholic (theVictim, the one who is "it"). And they draw thePersecutor, theRescuer, thePatsy ( or theDummy, maybe theAgitator ) and finally theConnection (theBartender or theLiquorStoreClerke.)
Of course they’re theVictim but they love to slide into thePersecutor role, making you theVictim.
A funny one is “Let's You and Him Fight (LYAHF)”. A woman sets up a competition between two men to win her affections. Then, while Bert and Ernie are duking it out she takes off with a third male. All because of her belief that all honest competition is for suckers.

But wait there’s more.
You are the move you make
Take your chances win or loser
See yourself You are the steps you take
You and you - and that's the only way
Shake - shake yourself
You're every move you make
So the story goes
You have aLifeScript (aPersonalLifePlan) based on family/social/cultural/religious influences which were completed by the age of seven.
Some people think that they will never meet anybody (a script decision about being alone). But basically scripts come in 3 flavours (theWinner/theLoser/theBanal).
A winner's script allows for the person who designed it to get what he or she wants in the end (Being happily married in a loving relationshsip)
Loser scripts are those that end up with the person who lives them getting what they want. (Having it, losing it, things falling to pieces).
A banal script is one which is built on mediocrity, nothing much is gained and nothing much lost. (Working hard but never getting anywhere).

A script, it is still a pattern of thinking and behaving in the world which restricts some of your options. The ideal, therefore, is to become script free, or be able to apply the strengths in your script consciously. You made decisions based on limited information. Your dad drank not because of you or that but because his situation, his beliefs, his frame of reference which were drawn from his child experiences.Say - you don't want to chance it You've been hurt so before
Watch it now
The eagle in the sky
How he dancin' one and only
You - lose yourself
No not for pity's sake
There's no real reason to be lonely
Be yourself
Give your free will a chance
You've got to want to succeed
Being script-free is being autonomous(behaving, thinking or feeling in direct response to here and now reality rather than reacting to things based on a script belief). Autonomy is manifested by the release or recovery of three capacities: awareness, spontaneity and intimacy.Owner of a lonely heart

And of course, once you know what your unconscious life plan is you can change it. You decided on it as a child, but you can now change your mind as an adult. Remember that whatever you decided about yourself and your life as a child, it was done from a very limited perspective. What seemed a generalized truth about life then might not be true for you anymore today. After my own decision

Esotericism and New Age beliefs are part of the draw to the “Celestine Prophecy”. I liked it. It helped me deal with my mom dying. But it’s only a fictional story. You tend to be drawn to certain books/people/places because of your script and your longing for that perfect world/person/home. A winner's script allows for the person who designed it to get what he or she wants in the end (like in the story of Odysseus, who does find his way back home). In much the same way stories of Utopia or Heaven would have influenced your script (either winner, loser or banal).Owner of a lonely heart

What does it have to do with New Thought. Nothing.
That isn’t the legacy that Fillmore, Cady, Cramer, Brooks, Holmes, Fox, Murphy, Butterworth and others left in their books.
Christian Science, Unity, Divine Science and Religious Science have their roots entrenched in those books. It was never Quimby’s intention to start a religion.

Healing #1

....healing is not a physical process but, spiritual realization....health is not a condition of physical well-being only but the realization of a state of wholeness in the individual. Healing is the turning from the belief in disease to the realization of God’s Presence and Perfect Activity. God is health. Do I hear you asking, “Since God is health and God is omnipresent, what is there to be healed?” There is only one condition to be healed--our misconceptions. NONA BROOKS

Is disease a belief?
