~ The Brothers ~

There once were two brothers who looked very much alike. They were in the same business,

dressed alike, were both lame, and each had a pumple foot. Their names were John

and William R. A gentleman wished to find John but could not recall to mind his given

name, and he asked a friend if he had seen Mr. R. “Which one? There are two brothers.”

“The lame one.”

“They are both lame.”

“Well, the pumple-footed one.”

“They are both so.”

“Well, he is a pedlar.”

“They are both so.”

“Well, this man trades, too.”

“So do both.”

“Well, my man is a democrat.”

“So are they both.”

After thinking awhile, he says, “He wears a buffalo coat and drives a lame horse.”

“So they both do,” replied the other.

“Well,” said he, “I will give up and wait, till I can see him.”

A Call For Love

Phineas Parkhurst Quimby was the greatest healer America has ever known. He was clairvoyant, and he would read the contents of the mind of an individual, tell him the cause of his sickness. At least over 60 percent of the people who came to Quimby were sick because of false religious beliefs. He attributed this guilt, fear, and things of that nature engendered by the church.

Do you wish, reader,

 to take a trip to the world beyond the narrow limit of man's wisdom? Give me your hand and close your eyes from the natural world and rise into space, out of sight and hearing of the bustle of the world. View the vast space and sit till you see things come as it were standing on nothing.

You only have to sit back and know the truth.

The most powerful word in the vocabulary of prayer is the verb "is": Harmony is; God is; joy is; peace is; abundance is; Omnipresence is. In the presence of Omnipresence, is there anything to be healed, changed, reformed, overcome, or destroyed?

Change water into wine!

 Let this be your daily prayer; write it in your heart: “God is the source of my supply. That supply is my supply now. His riches flow to me freely, copiously, and abundantly. I am forever conscious of my true worth. I give of my talents freely, and I am wonderfully, divinely compensated. Thank you, Father!” Murphy, Joseph. How to Attract Money (p. 33). GENERAL PRESS.

Religion and disease are synonymous.

Feeling it a duty I owe myself and others to define my position as a man and a doctor so that I may not be misrepresented, I take this method to lay before the public my ideas so that they, being my judges, can decide the merits of my claim. For three years, I have been in this city attending to the duties of my practice without interfering in any way with the world outside of my business. I have given my whole attention to the sick, believing that my method of healing is entirely new and unknown to the world, and my object is to reduce it to a science so that it can be practiced by everyone for his own good. This is the sole reason why I remain here. I seek no favors of any one. I do not write this to get patients, for I have as many as I can attend to, but to separate myself from all others who see fit to assign me a place among the humbugs of the day.

The Two Words of Salvation

“The capacity of thought-reading is the common extent of mesmerism. Clairvoyance is very rare, and can be easily tested by blindfolding the subject and giving him a book to read. If he can read without seeing, that is conclusive evidence that he has independent sight. This state is of very short duration. They then come into that state where they are governed by surrounding minds.” ~ PP Quimby

Thought

Thought, like the blossom of the rose or tree, contains all the elements of the tree or rose. Now as the law of vegetation governs the tree or rose, so the law of mind acts upon the idea or spiritual tree, known by the name of good or evil. Now although this tree differs from all other trees in the garden of man, it cannot be detected except by its fruits, and as the fruits appear pleasant to the eye of the mind and are supposed to make men happy, it is cultivated without knowing the peculiar properties it contains.

The man who brought psychology out of the lavatory!

David Seabury, as many of you know, is an eminent psychologist, teacher and author. He was the first consulting psychologist in the country, I believe. He tells the story of being announced over the radio, in San Francisco some years ago. The announcer said,

THE MEANING OF ABSENT TREATMENT

The most effective method of healing or influencing the behavior of others consists in what is known as “the silent or absent treatment”.
When the subject is unaware, objectively, of the suggestion given him there is no possibility of him setting up an antagonistic belief. It is not necessary that the patient know, objectively, that anything is being done for him.
From what is known of the subjective and objective processes of reasoning, it is better that he should not know objectively of that which is being done for him. The more completely the objective mind is kept in ignorance of the suggestion, the better will the subjective mind perform its functions. The subject subconsciously accepts the suggestion and thinks he originates it, proving the truth of Spinoza’s dictum that we know not the causes that determine our actions.

RESURRECTION
by
NEVILLE GODDARD

The process of all healing is a definite, positive, mental attitude, an inner attitude, or a way of thinking, called faith. Healing is due to a confident expectancy, which acts as a powerful suggestion to the subconscious mind releasing its healing potency.

Meditation Molds Your Future

You are what you meditate on all day long. The late Dr. David Seabury, who specialized in Quimby’s techniques, told me that while he was practicing in New York City, a man had asked him to come and see his wife, who was paralyzed due to an emotional shock. Dr. Seabury called it psychological paralysis. He gave her a technique to practice. She was to vividly imagine herself doing all the things she would do were she whole and perfect, such as driving her car, riding a horse, golfing and working around the house.

Give Your Best To The World

To abide in the Christ is to actually live in the Christ consciousness, and every part of mind and soul is permeated, through and through, with the life and the power of the Christ. Your entire being is in the hands of higher power; you are in a world where things are absolutely mastered by the spiritual will, and your mind is so spiritualized that it responds perfectly to the power of divine will. Teach Us To Pray

"Our Father in the Heavens;
"Your Name must be being hallowed;
"Your kingdom must be being restored;
"Your will must be being done, both in Heaven and upon the Earth.
"Give us to-day our to-morrow's bread;
"And forgive us our faults, as we forgive those offending us, for You would not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from its evil." Charles Fillmore repeatedly referenced the Ferrar Fenton translation of the Bible. Perhaps the most unique and striking translation is Fenton's translation of the Lord's Prayer, which was referenced by Charles and Cora Fillmore in the Forward to Teach Us To Pray.

The two worlds may be divided in this way: one opinions, the other science.

Jan. 25th, 1861
To Mrs. Ware:
By the request of Emma and Sarah I sit down by you to see if I can amuse you by my explanation of disease. You know I often talk to persons about religion and you often look as though you would rather have me talk about anything else. Perhaps it would be better, but if you knew the cause of every sensation, then you would not want a physician. Now you will want me to tell you how you feel and if you will give me your attention I will try to explain. This heavy lazy feeling that you have, accompanied with a desire to lie down and sort of indifference how things go along, comes from a quiet state of your system that prevents your food from digesting as readily as it did while here. But it will act upon you like an emetic or cathartic, either way is right. So give no care to what you shall eat or drink, for that wisdom that governs all science will cause all things to work for the best, and if you want to eat, consult your own feelings and take no one's opinion.

The power of decision is all that is yours

“Sometimes words will limit fear; sometimes not. That is why some people hear words, some receive feelings of inner conviction, and some do not become aware of anything. Yet God has answered, and His Answer will reach you when you are ready.
Answers are not up to you. Any limit you place on them interferes with hearing. God’s Voice is silent and speaks in silence. That means that you do not phrase the question and you do not restrict the answer [meaning that it is best for us not to do so].

Asking is a form of prayer. It is not a demand. It is not questioning. It is not limitation. The only real request is for God’s Answer. This needs the humility of trust, not the arrogance of false certainty. Trust cannot lie in idols, for that is merely faith in magic. Trust requires faith that God understands, knows, and will answer. It means a state of peace. For this you can safely ask. In fact, if you do not feel that you have it, asking for it is the only real request that you can make.”
ABSENCE from FELICITY

I am as God created me - This one thought is enough to save you and the world
"This one thought would be enough to save you and the world, if you believed that it is true. Its truth would mean that you have made no changes in yourself that have reality, nor changed the universe so that what God created was replaced by fear and evil, misery and death. If you remain as God created you fear has no meaning, evil is not real, and misery and death do not exist." ACIM Lesson 110.1

What we believe, that we create,

One night a father overheard his son pray:
"Dear God, Make me the kind of man my Daddy is."
Later that night, the Father prayed,
"Dear God, Make me the kind of man my son wants me to be."
