How much 'ego' do "you" need?

Drop out of mind your belief in the future for good things and events to come to you. Affirm that they are already in your grasp. You will learn the principle of “nowness” by repeating these words of Jesus Christ: “Believe that ye receive.” Mark 11:24 Matthew 21:22 ECH
I am NOT this body, it is not me, it is not my identity. Who would I be without the thought that aging, deterioration, accidents, injuries, sickness, or death were frightening? Or that they were ME? Read more@ Partial, Crooked, Empty, Dying

"It is possible for you to say, with the help of the Spirit of Truth itself, 'I don't know.' And instead of surrendering to futility, you can surrender to God. When you absolutely know, ‘really know’ that you don't know, all is well. You don't have to know from the intellect. You thought you had to. You don't have to. God knows. That's it. That's a fact. That's Truth. That's just as solid as this table. If God knows, which he does, and you're in communication and communion with God, then you have his wisdom. That makes you someone who has knowledge supplied by God, not by man." VH

“How much “ego” do you need? Just enough so that you don’t step in front of a bus.” ~ Shunryu Suzuki

When you practice nonresistance, it often diffuses a potentially explosive situation. You are not empowering the other person through equal and exact force, but spiritually having and keeping the power yourself. ~ www.positivechristianity.org

What you desire is longing to be lived through you. Take a moment to identify the strongest desire you are feeling in your heart right now. It doesn't matter how big or small the desire. It may be a physical manifestation or a state of mind. Imagine yourself living that desire. Notice who you are being and how it feels.
Located in your heart's desire is what you long to do because that's who you are. The feeling will be familiar to you because it is your natural state. Throughout the day, as often as you remember, practice feeling the presence of your essence. Affirmation: I say yes to being who I know myself to be. www.receiveyourlife.com

To get rid of the parts of you that buy into the disbelief that you could make a living doing what you want to do, do this exercise.
1. Make a list of all of the reasons you were drawn to this profession.
2. Add to the list ways you’ve already helped folks.
3. Argue with, release and dissolve any naysaying voices around you and in your head. No, I don’t mean getting into a heated discussion with your best friend about why your coaching ambition is NOT pie in the sky. I mean do this internally.
4. Write down a monetary value that you might place on the results of your services. For example, when I hear of people paying upwards of $10,000 for the skills of a high level matchmaker, only to still come up empty-handed when it comes to love, then I remember that my services are worth at LEAST that (they are effective). And in fact, my work is more like PRICELESS. How do you put a value on finding the love of your life?
5. Really work on lining up with who you are and why this is a viable path for you.
In the Be a Successful Coach Your Way teleseminar, I spoke of all of the times I thought “Who am I to do this?” If you have similar voices, you MUST get rid of them or at least ignore them.
#5 is the most important step in this exercise. You must see who you are and go forward with that knowledge. You have something important to contribute, but you must be aware of that fully.
If you do nothing else but convince yourself that this work is important and you are the person to do it, then that’s enough for you to see success on your path. http://kathrynalice.com/success/

’Confusion is an honest emotion’. A man has broken well into the open when he can say, 'I don't know,' without being afraid of what he has just said. To realize that you don't know this or that, is the beginning of new  isdom. For instance, it is not wrong to be puzzled about what you want from life, any more than it is wrong not to know what kind of food you want for dinner. It is never wrong to be either physically or psychologically hungry. ‘What is wrong’ is to accept a piece of fruit without deter-mining whether it is real or artificial." VH

"Nobody chooses dysfunction, conflict, pain. Nobody chooses insanity. This happens because there is not enough presence in you to dissolve the past...You are not fully here." ~ Eckhart Tolle

Yield gently and graciously when you are found to be in the wrong. Then you will never be in the wrong. Keep saying these words till all the things you like are gathered to you as steel filings are gathered to a magnet: “I am full of joy in the Love of God.”- ECH

"'You say we must react rightly to suffering. What is a wrong reaction?'
'When you resist it, hate it, fight it, try to escape it with some frantic exterior activity.'
'Why are those reactions wrong?'
'Because they prevent you from understanding the whole process. And that is why you suffer over and over again. If your car breaks down, do you walk away and pretend there's nothing wrong, or do you work at understanding the mechanical failure in order to repair it? Why not face the inner breakdown and correct it?'"

Your deep spiritual nature abides in thoughts of the real and eternal. There shall no ill come nigh such as you if you remember who provides for your every need. Keep this thought reigning: “Thou art my All.”ECH

Whether a person is aware of it or not, he is assaulted constantly by misleading and hostile voices within the mind.
It is extremely important for you to remember the following truth: these hurtful voices ARE NOT you, and they do not belong to you, but merely speak through your psychic system. Don't take them as being your own voices, any more than you take radio voices as being your own. They simply USE unaware human beings. Your true nature has nothing to do with them. When finally dismissing these sinister speakers you make room for spiritual health and true life." VH

“People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite... Man's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never explained.” ― Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom
“Hate erodes you. Hate starts eating on you. And it eats and eats. And the more you hate you want to kill the object of the hate. Once you categorize or stereotype something, like a prejudicial slur, then that has to be the focus of hate.” ~ Virginia Satir
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”― Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom
"CARE NOW Care for what happens to you. Care for what happens to you. No, you do not presently do so. You care only for what happens to your sleepwalking personality, as when you force a smile to try to appear pleasant before others. It is this slumbering self that makes you feel so bad. See the tragedy of abandoning your own life. Start true self-caring by not caring for your dangerous sleep-walking self that cares nothing for you." VH
At this time of year let’s remember WHAT we are and WHO we are.
