All these things are your replacements for the Love of God. All these things are cherished to ensure a body identification. They are songs of praise to the ego.
Only the Love of God will protect you in all circumstances. It will lift you out of every trial, and raise you high above all the perceived dangers of this world into a climate of perfect peace and safety. It will transport you into a state of mind that nothing can threaten, nothing can disturb, and where nothing can intrude upon the eternal calm of the Son of God.
Put not your faith in illusions. Put all your faith in the Love of God within you; eternal, changeless and forever unfailing. This is the answer to every problem that will confront you, today and tomorrow and throughout time. Through the Love of God within you, you can resolve all seeming difficulties without effort and in sure confidence. It is your acknowledgment of the truth about yourself. because we’re going to discuss it.
The world of swaying shadows. You have seen physically some night when the light in the night was in the right combination and the wind was blowing a little bit and you were outside perhaps in the garden or a field and the wind blew and shadows swayed and you felt maybe a little lonely out there and it’s getting dark and you’re used to getting home when it gets dark but you are out there for some reason or other. Now you have in your mind the physical description of what we’re going to talk about inwardly.
Humans live in this world of swaying shadows and it’s very unclear, obscure out there in the shadowy world isn’t it - and inside isn’t it? The whole inner world of your swaying shadows is obscure and very, very frightening and you try to explain it. You try to tell yourself that there’s no danger out there.
I'm setting before you the picture, the fact that you’re life is nothing but one obscure happening, swaying after another, which you don’t understand.
The reason you don’t understand it is because you don’t want to. This is very profound. Follow.
You prefer to be part of it because when you’re out there, in there, you can have a multitude of successive impressions, fiery moods. You can be active in your own life and know what to do and how to complain and you can see all the enemies you want out there."
