Church of the Silent Demand

Church of the Silent Demand to Hold Services in New York

The Church of the Silent Demand, a denomination new in the East, will hold services at the Claridge Hotel beginning next Sunday. T.G. Northrup of Evanston, Ill., is sponsor of the organization and has hopes of soon building up a large congregation. He was connected with the New Thought movement at Evanston until the beginning of the summer, and the Church of the Silent Demand will be conducted along the lines of that movement.

Mr. Northrup said:
“Many prominent men and women identified with the theatrical profession and the moving pictures are earnestly interested in the church work, and I will make a canvass of them to secure their support and attendance. Travelling men, likewise, are not the care-free lot that Dame Rumor has it, for I personally know great numbers of Christian men in this worthy profession. Of course, the congregation is embryonic at present; but I am sure that New York promises an unusual field for my work.”
