And that means it is always
only my seemingly separated mind in need

Oops. It’s not about two people with an intention of being
together. That’s brain/body stuff. It’s more about recognizing who they each
are and that neither needs the other to be happy (including the house with a white
picket fence)
(2:9-3:1) "The world would be completely changed, should any two agree these words express the only thing they want. ... Two minds with one intent become so strong that what they will becomes the Will of God."
*These words have also been misunderstood. A holy relationship does not exist between two people. For the world to be changed -- for my mind to be healed -- all that is required is that I not see you and me as separate. As this lesson makes it clear, the other person does not even have to know about this -- he or she may have died, for example -- nor has to agree with what I am doing. The two minds that join are mine that joins with yours, which means I undo the prior belief that says my happiness comes at your expense. You need do nothing but accept the healing that comes the instant I realize you and I share one intent and purpose.
Again, Jesus does not speak of two separate personalities or bodies that join. If that were the case, he would be placing a condition upon our salvation: I could not be saved unless another is joined with me, thereby making the body and separation real. However, Jesus' focus is only on undoing my mind's thought system of separation that says another must lose so I can gain. When I choose against that principle by asking Jesus for help, my mind has joined with another's, because God's Son is one. This, then, is the essence of the holy instant: turning away from the belief in separate interests, a decision that reflects Heaven's unity. It is also the essence of healing, as we see in these two passages, one already familiar to us, that state it takes two to establish sickness, but only one to heal it.
"No mind is sick until another mind agrees that they are separate. And thus it is their joint decision to be sick. If you withhold agreement and accept the part you play in making sickness real, the other mind cannot project its guilt without your aid in letting it perceive itself as separate and apart from you. Thus is the body not perceived as sick by both your minds from separate points of view. Uniting with a brother's mind prevents the cause of sickness and perceived effects. Healing is the effect of minds that join, as sickness comes from minds that separate." (T.28.III.2.)
"Accepting the Atonement for yourself means not to give support to someone's dream of sickness and of death. It means that you share not his wish to separate, and let him turn illusions on himself.... The Holy Spirit is in both your minds, and He is One because there is no gap that separates His Oneness from Itself. The gap between your bodies matters not, for what is joined in Him is always one. No one is sick if someone else accepts his union with him. His desire to be a sick and separated mind cannot remain without a witness or a cause. And both are gone if someone wills to be united with him." (T.28.IV.1.1-2;7:1-5).
Healing occurs within the mind of each individual student, thus occurring in the mind of the Sonship. The manual answers the question "How many Teachers Of God are Needed to Save the World?" with a single word:(M-12.1) We need only one teacher of God to save the world because there only one teacher -- God's Son. This does not literally mean Jesus, incidentally, who is but one expression of the Son's healed mind. The one teacher of God who saves the world is , when in the holy instant you choose the Holy Spirit as your teacher. Since the mind of God's Son is one, your healing is the healing of the Sonship.
These ideas cannot be understood from the world's perspective, for they can be known only through the mind's -- not the brains -- experience. In the holy instant -- when your mind is outside the dream of time and space -- the peace and love you feel tell you these words are true. Recall this important passage from the text that explicitly states the impossibility of understanding A Course in Miracles (truth) from the perspective of the world (fantasy):
"Think you that you can bring truth to fantasy, and learn what truth means from the perspective of illusions? Truth has no meaning in illusion. The frame of reference for its meaning must be itself. When you try to bring truth to illusions, you are trying to make illusions real, and keep them by justifying your belief in them."(T.17.I.5.1-4).
Therefore, the Course's words in and of themselves mean nothing. It is where they lead you that is important. When your mind undoes its belief in separate interests, it is restored to its oneness with the Will of God.*
(4:1-6) "Yet compromise alone a dream can bring. Sometimes it takes the form of
union, but only the form. The meaning must escape the dream, for compromising is
the goal of dreaming. Minds cannot unite in dreams. They merely bargain. And
