Fear

Salvation is your happiest accomplishment. It is also the only one that has any meaning, because it is the only one that has any real use to you at all. God is the light in which I see. Lesson 44

"The story is told of an evil king who captured several enemy soldiers in a battle. Taking them back to his estate he put them to work as slaves. To outer appearances they were treated well for they were given sufficient food and comfortable living quarters. But one day one of the slaves dashed away in an attempt to escape. Grabbing their swords the guards pursued the fugitive into the woods, but the slave made good his escape.

We have several vital lessons in the story. The slave is anyone who has been captured by inner negative states. He appears to be treated kindly but _only as long as he does not try to escape_. When the slave started to dash away, all the surface kindness vanished and cruel swords took its place. Once you start to use NO for your escape you will see angry forces both inside and outside that don't want you to break their evil grip on your life. Simply expect this and realize that your spiritual weapon of NO is stronger than all the hostile forces in the universe!" Vernon Linwood Howard

Where are your real thoughts? Recognize that only what God would have us do is possible. Understand that only what God would have us do is what we want to do. Remember that we cannot fail in doing what He would have us do. God is the Mind with which I think. Lesson 45

Peace is. T-8.1.1:2
Raphael Lemkin ( 1900 – 1959 ) was a Polish lawyer who emigrated to the United States in 1941. He is best known for his work against genocide, a word he coined in 1943 from the rooted words genos (Greek for family, tribe, or race) and -cide (Latin for killing). He first used the word in print in Axis Rule in Occupied Europe: Laws of Occupation - Analysis of Government - Proposals for Redress (1944), and defined it as "the destruction of a nation or an ethnic group."

"Why is the killing of a million a lesser crime than the killing of a single individual?" Raphael Lemkin

We said before that when a situation has been dedicated wholly to truth, peace is inevitable. ACiM - Text Chapter Nineteen - The Attainment of Peace - Section 1 - Healing and Faith
Let us go back to what we said before, and think of it more carefully. It must be so that either God is mad, or is this world a place of madness. Not one Thought of His makes any sense at all within this world. And nothing that the world believes as true has any meaning in His Mind at all. What makes no sense and has no meaning is insanity. And what is madness cannot be the truth. If one belief so deeply valued here were true, then every Thought God ever had is an illusion. And if but one Thought of His is true, then all beliefs the world gives any meaning to are false, and make no sense at all. This is the choice you make. Do not attempt to see it differently, nor twist it into something it is not. For only this decision can you make. The rest is up to God, and not to you. ACiM - Text Chapter Twenty-five - The Justice of God - Section 8 - The Rock of Salvation
We said before that the Holy Spirit must teach through comparisons, and uses opposites to point to truth. The holy instant is the opposite of the ego's fixed belief in salvation through vengeance for the past. In the holy instant it is understood that the past is gone, and with its passing the drive for vengeance has been uprooted and has disappeared. The stillness and the peace of now enfold you in perfect gentleness. Everything is gone except the truth. ACiM Text - Chapter Sixteen - The Forgiveness of Illusions - Section 7 - The End of Illusions
We said before that the ego attempts to maintain and increase guilt, but in such a way that you do not recognize what it would do to you. For it is the ego's fundamental doctrine that what you do to others you have escaped. The ego wishes no one well. Yet its survival depends on your belief that you are exempt from its evil intentions. It counsels, therefore, that if you are host to it, it will enable you to direct its anger outward, thus protecting you. And thus it embarks on an endless, unrewarding chain of special relationships, forged out of anger and dedicated to but one insane belief; that the more anger you invest outside yourself, the safer you become. ACiM Text - Chapter Fifteen - The Holy Instant - Section 7 - The Needless Sacrifice
We said before that the ego vacillates between suspiciousness and viciousness. It remains suspicious as long as you despair of yourself. It shifts to viciousness when you decide not to tolerate self-abasement and seek relief. Then it offers you the illusion of attack as a "solution. " ACiM Text - Chapter Nine - THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE ATONEMENT
We have said before that the separation was and is dissociation, and that once it occurs projection becomes its main defense, or the device that keeps it going. The reason, however, may not be so obvious as you think. ACiM Text - Chapter Six - The Lessons of Love - The Alternative to Projection
We said before that the Holy Spirit is evaluative, and must be. He sorts out the true from the false in your mind, and teaches you to judge every thought you allow to enter it in the light of what God put there.
