Vote for the Internet!

The Conservatives have put forward an invasive, anti-Internet set of “Lawful Access” policies that would have Internet providers collect our personal information without court oversight. If this goes through, officials will have real-time access to our online information. "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!"
The good news is: •The Green Party got the ball rolling by actively encouraging their members to sign up as pro-Internet candidates. •Conservative Candidate Sébastien Forté showed his support when he went so far as to join an open meetings in Montreal. •Jack Layton and many New Democrats quickly came out in favour of the open Internet. NDP candidates showed support by handing out flyers and wearing pins, and the party later introduced a digital policy that calls for an end to usage-based billing. Jack Layton even called the OpenMedia.ca office to pledge his support! •Many Liberal candidates have committed to stand up for the Internet. Pressured by OpenMedia.ca during an online panel discussion, the Liberals went as far as making a commitment to prevent anti-competitive behaviour by separating Big Telecom’s Internet service businesses. Keep the momentum building!!!
