The Two Pictures: truth and illusion.

Powerless Over Your Thinking? The Steps To Freedom

Chapter 13 is the longest chapter of ACiM. Ken Wapnick called it the heart of the course.

A Course in Miracles is different from some other paths. Some paths suggest that if we use the law of attraction our outer world will look different. The Course does not guarantee a change in form, but does guarantee a change in mind
( which is content). Peace of mind is the result of seeing the world with the vision of Christ/Holy Spirit.
I waffled back and forth for years trying to meld the Course with Law of Attraction principles, to increase financial prosperity. I finally got to the place where I could only do the Course's practice of forgiveness, because in my case I found it was the ego that wanted or thought it needed more money. When I'm in the space of the Christ Self, I know everything is taken care of in the level of form, and there's no worry. Any time I think I lack something I am feeling separated from God. I try to recognize that, forgive it, and ask the Holy Spirit to see it differently. I remind myself, "I forgive the belief in money." That returns the mind to right-minded thinking. From Lorri Coburn Ask Lorri--ACIM Q & A

Into eternity, where all is one, there crept a tiny, mad idea, at which the Son of God remembered not to laugh. In his forgetting did the thought become a serious idea, and possible of both accomplishment and real effects. Together, we can laugh them both away, and understand that time cannot intrude upon eternity. It is a joke to think that time can come to circumvent eternity, which means there is no time.
The secret of salvation is but this: that you are doing this unto yourself. No matter what the form of the attack, this still is true.
… miracles reflect the simple statement, " I have done this thing, and it is this I would undo. " ACiM - Text Chapter Twenty-seven - The Healing of the Dream - Section 8 - The "Hero" of the Dream
"Something wiser than you is trying to get through to you." Vernon Linwood Howard

Purpose Fairy ~ “We carry our past with us, to wit, the primitive and inferior man with his desires and emotions, and it is only with an enormous effort that we can detach ourselves from this burden. If it comes to a neurosis, we invariably have to deal with a considerably intensified shadow. And if such a person wants to be cured it is necessary to find a way in which his conscious personality and his shadow can live together.” ~ Carl Gustav Jung, “Answer to Job” (1952). From How to Make Peace with Your Past and Heal Your Life.  ACiM talks of the special love relationship in ACiM Text - Chapter Sixteen - The Forgiveness of Illusions - Section 5 - The Choice for Completion where your "self" seeks the relationship to make itself complete. Concepts such as “Twin Souls” or “soul mates” belong here. What ACiM is pointing out is if we think we’re separate from God then this kind of relationship will further that belief. Seek God first. Then we shouldn’t have to give up anything to enter into a relationship, change ourselves for that relationship or try to change the other person. The dynamics of the relationship change when we’re centered in God and have the Holy Spirit as our guide.  Swedenborg didn’t understand that. (see True marriage love comes from the minds of people who are in a married state. ). So relax, you don’t have one (1) soul mate. Everyone on the planet is your soul mate. So many to choose from and unlimited possibilities. So write down the characteristics of the type of person and relationship you want. But first, let the Holy Spirit teach you what love is. Then the dynamics of what you thought you wanted may change. Chapter 16 of the text reminds us to remember what we've done out love in the past. Not to focus on what went wrong, or rather what we perceived to go wrong.

ACiM - Text Chapter Seventeen - Forgiveness and the Holy Relationship - Section 4 - The Two Pictures is reminiscent of reframing from NLP. Which picture do you want to see? The one of the ego or the one through the eyes of Christ.
