2012 Beliefs and the Great unShift.

I still see stuff about Mayan and Hopi prophecies. The Mayan stuff about 2012 and the Mayan calendar ending have been demonstrated to be “much ado about nothing”.

Hopi Prophecies seem to an enigma. New Age stuff , rumours and innuendo, without any substance related to hard evidence, whether empirical or otherwise.

Names that pop up are Master Kuthumi and the White Brotherhood. New Age beliefs (routed in Theosophy?) People have turned away from organized religion and are looking for something outside of themselves when the REAL power is within and always has been.

Over the centuries, many people on their individual Spiritual paths have yearned for a Golden Age when their dreams of a well-functioning, harmonious, and mutually loving world would truly be present. Part of the appeal of these earth religions is that notion that we need to reconnect with the Earth in order to save ourselves. People hailed the coming of the dawning of the Golden Age in the late 1800’s. But nothing happened.

Are publishers courting readers who believe humanity is creating its own ecological disasters and desperately needs ancient indigenous wisdom? Maybe. Definitely some authors are promoting the idea. New Age is big bucks.

It’s a matter of turning within and discovering who you really are. The only thing that’s going to get in your way is your EGO. Because it’s going to kick and scream and have you look in the mirror and prove to yourself that you are a body, subject to aches, pains, dis-ease and disappointments. Rather than what you really are. Spirit, unaware that you’re safe at home but believing you’re separate from God. The EGO relates you to the name on your drivers license or birth certificate. It’s that identity it wants to hold onto.

Awake O sleeper and rise from the dead.

It’s an individual thing. YOU rise in consciousness and wake up. Then others around you may follow your example. Ultimately, it’s really a matter of choice. Insteaad of listening to the EGO you turn inside and listen to SPIRIT and start asking “What’s right?Which voice? The wRONG-minded eGO or the Right-minded Spirit. To be inspired is “to be in spirit”. And slowly you peel away the layers and return to your CORE being.

I don’t foresee anyone vibrating off the planet or a star gate opening where people walk into another dimension.
I do see a lot of disappointed people in 2012. And a number of authors looking for work.

And I do see some people actually waking up.

Man, The Master

Man is essentially free. He always has freedom of choice and the power of initiative. He can always neutralize a condition or circumstance. Or he can intensify it. Or he may let it work itself out as it will. He is as free to permit himself to be dictated to as he is free to dictate. He can stand secure and erect on his own feet, or stumble on another’s. He can stand straight and strong, or he can lean crooked and weak. Man is free to be master or slave, and that which he manifests indicates the choice he has made.

Man, claim your divinity. Know thyself; and know that all that is, and ever will be, is dormant within you, ready and willing to be awakened by your magic touch. With thought definite and exalted, emotion controlled and refined, and energy conserved and responsive to command, man is prepared to meet and to overcome, assimilate, or harmonize with whatever may meet him on the path of life. He has been furnished with the equipment of a conqueror!
Man, The Master by Eugene Del Mar

Eugene del Mar was for many years the effective leader of the League for a Higher Life, A New Thought organization in New York City.
One of the most significant revelations of mental and spiritual healing has been the correspondence of mental states and physical conditions, disclosing the fact that the two are really one and identical, that the mental is the realm of cause and the physical that of effect, and that physical healing is essentially mental. More than this : these correspondences have been observed carefully by many healers and their results compared, so that there is already a considerable body of such knowledge that is available for use in the mental healing of physical disease.

Disease is a racial habit that persists largely because of its immemorial traditions. Were Truth to have the general acceptance that is now accorded to false beliefs, health would be as prevalent as disease now is. Man has been slow to lay claim to his spiritual heritage of harmony and health, while he has accepted readily his mental inheritance of discord and disease. It has been easier for him thus to adopt the beliefs that necessitate physical disease. In view of present day knowledge, it is surprising that people are willing to remain sick when this is largely unnecessary and altogether demoralising.

Mental or spiritual healing is not universally applicable at the present time, because humanity generally is unprepared to abandon its materialistic conceptions. Believing in the physical as the realm of cause, it is living in illusion and delusion, discord and disease.

The general recognition of the mental as the realm of physical cause would bring to the race a New Era, wherein humanity would enjoy an unprecedented degree of mental wholeness and physical health.

The basis of both health and disease is in the mental realm, which may be controlled consciously and guided subconsciously along affirmative and constructive paths. The healing power is inherent in Life itself, and not in material remedies, and it may be explained in terms acceptable to the rational and reasoning mind. Its processes are subject to Eternal Principles, which may be formulated simply, so that they may be understood easily.

Mental or spiritual healing accepts modern applied psychology as a basis. At the same time, it is essentially spiritual and fundamentally religious. If one will look deep enough into anything that concerns Life, it is inevitable that he will penetrate to its religious foundation. It is only as one reaches to the centre of Life that he may understand its circumference, and physical health is the visible appearance of the spiritual perfection that one may realise. It is the outer aspect of the inner vision. It is Truth manifested in physical form.

Conquest of Disease, The Psychology of Mental & Spiritual Healing, by Eugene Del Mar [1922]
This book demonstrates that disease is an inherited habit, the product of false thinking, that it is unnecessary, and may be conquered by thoughts of truth.

Age of Enlightenment ~ the Great Awakenings

Christian revival is a term that generally refers to a specific period of increased spiritual interest or renewal in the life of a church congregation or many churches, either regionally or globally. This should be distinguished from the use of the term "revival" to refer to a evangelistic meeting or series of meetings.

Historians have different numbering and dating systems. There were "Awakenings" around the years 1727, 1792, 1830, 1857, 1882 and 1904. More recent revivals include those of 1906 (Azusa Street Revival), 1930s (Balokole), 1970s (Jesus people) and 1909 Chile Revival (Revival in Chile) which spread in the Americas, Africa, and Asia among Protestants and Catholics.

GOD HELP ME

The simplest of prayers, and from the standpoint of repetition the most effective, consists of these three words.

This is a simplified form of the Pilgrim's Prayer:

Believe in Yourself.

Age is not the flight of years; it is really the dawn of wisdom and Divine knowledge in you. Imagination is the mighty instrument used by great scientists, artists, physicists, inventors, architects, and mystics. When the world said, "It is impossible. It can't be done," the man with imagination said, "It is done!" Through your imagination you can also penetrate the depths of reality, and reveal the secrets of nature.

Joseph (imagination) wears a coat of many colors. A coat in the Bible is a psychological covering. Your psychological garments are the mental attitudes, moods, and feelings you entertain. The coat of many colors represent the many facets of the diamond, or your capacity to clothe any idea in form. You can imagine your friend who is poor living in the lap of luxury. You can see his face light up with joy, see his expression change, and a broad smile cross his lips. You can hear him tell you what you want to hear. You can see him exactly as you wish to see him — i.e., he is radiant, happy, prosperous, and successful. Your imagination is the coat of many colors; it can clothe and objectify any idea or desire. You can imagine abundance where lack is; peace where discord is; health where sickness is.

If you live in Boston can you find a picture of Miss Eleanor Mel who ran the Boston Home of Truth for over 4o years. Appreciated.

Thank You!
There are many reasons why people fail to reach their objectives but the most important is simply that all systems which are presented on the subject of success are the results of the personal experiences of the writer alone. Remembering your own uniqueness, you will easily transform from the general principles the particular expression which applies to you, and you will find that you will forge ahead while others, who might still be ignoring their fundamental individuality and studying by emulation rather than participation, will find that their path seems to be blocked. Let us, who have taken the first and vital step, just go on walking...[THE WAY TO PERSONAL SUCCESS ~ Fairbrother and Duc de Palatine]

I made the comment 2 years ago I wanted to write a book about New Thought authors. I’ve pretty much exhausted the list of authors but the books keep pouring in. I was led to Quimby and from Quimby spawned New Thought. Would he have been happy with New Thought. No. Quimby was about healing. As he said:
“my practice is unlike all other medical practice, it is necessary to say that I give no medicines and make no outward applications, but simply sit by the patient, tell him what he thinks is his disease, and my explanation is the cure. And if I succeed in correcting his errors, I change the fluids of the system~ and establish the truth, or health. The truth is the cure.”

Without Quimby there would have been no Evans, MEB, the Dressers, ECH, Divine Science, Religious Science and Unity. I don’t preach reading the Bible (or even ACIM for that matter). But I do suggest studying the masters, reading those who had a deep understanding of the TRUTH whether the Bible, the Tao or any other sacred text that leads you to the TRUTH of your own uniqueness. Remembering who or what you are. Everyone could use a mentor. New Thought provides plenty from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s. Search and you will find.

I did TT for close to 13 years. Something about healing coming “from the father within that does all the work” made me start going through the motions (pretending) yet standing back and silently acknowledging the persons Divinity. And you know what? I cured headaches and had back pain disappear. And they were never any the wiser. And what they said they experienced was theirs to share. I understand more now but there is still a great deal to learn.

The sick GOT IT”. The healing aspect as was the message of Quimby, ECH and some other proponents of the Mental Cure, Mental Healing or New Thought as it evolved.

New Thought became contaminated by Theosophy, spiritism, Tarots and the Occult. Just read Horatio Dressers “History of New Thought”. Dresser used the phrase "came into vogue" a lot. That doesn’t mean you abandon it. It simply means you research the author and use your intuition and a little discernment.

How to forgive? I don’t know a sure fire method. How to tell when you have forgiven? Maybe this from Joseph Murphy will help:
Can you see the other person as happy, harmonious, joyous, etc.? If not, you have not forgiven or forsaken. These are the weeds you must pluck out. The roots are still there, and the roots of bitterness wither by indifference. This is another way to kill that root: Listen to the voice of the other person who wronged you telling you what a wonderful, dignified person you are and how honest and kind you are. Make it real. You want to hear it. Get into the mood of that mental picture.

And the journey continues.

EVERY EXPERIENCE WITH WHICH YOU MEET HAS BEEN BUILT FOR YOU BY YOUR OWN INTERIOR THOUGHT PROCESSES.

Come give me your hand. I want to take you to a place I know. It is a beautiful castle but within it are two places that need lots of work done for it to be whole and truly beautiful again. Let's go upstairs. Have you ever seen an attic so jam-packed with a lot of useless plunder? Know what it is? IT'S YOUR MIND. Many of us go through life hauling a lot of useless freight simply because we don't know how to free ourselves.

Well, first I want you to take your main beliefs and examine them thoroughly. Then ask yourself, "Why do I believe this? Is it something I have proved or something handed to me by race, superstition, suggestion or man-made theories?" Examine each thing carefully because what you decide to keep, YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH.

Now let's go to the cellar, now down another flight. Dark isn't it? This is the dungeon where the lord of the castle keeps his prisoners. Each prisoner's name is on the cell door, criticism, hate, resentment, anger, and in the last and darkest cell the worst of all, fear. Recognize the jailor? YES, IT'S YOU! This dungeon is your heart (subconscious mind) and the jailor is just as much imprisoned as the prisoners because he has to stay with them, and feed and care for them. The only way he can be free, is to free the prisoners. A great teacher once said that ten minutes a day spent in forgiving ourselves and others was the best preparation for a good life.

I know you are shocked. I was too when I recognized myself. But I was glad too, because I realized what a perfect chance I have to wipe the slate clean, and begin a new life such as the gods themselves would envy.

Now is the time to start!

Today more than ever before we find a tendency to question the meaning of life. By the efforts of the few we have reached the present stage of civilization, and because men are wiser today, they cannot be satisfied with anything less than the truth.

THE TIME FOR INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT HAS COME. WE MUST DISCOVER FOR OURSELVES THE WHYS AND WHEREFORES OF ALL THAT BAFFLES US IN THE MARVELOUS SCHEME OF LIFE AND NATURE. EACH OF US MUST FIND HIS OWN PLACE IN THE COSMIC ORDER, AND REALIZE FOR HIMSELF THE TRUE MEANING OF LIFE. INDIVIDUALLY WE MUST FIND THE KEY TO DESTINY. From: "Key to Yourself" by Venice Bloodworth

Dr. Venice J. Bloodworth was known through her works, to many people within and around the vicinity of Atlanta, Georgia, as teacher, counselor, and friend.
"The method is always the same, regardless of what is to be accomplished. First, the idea. Second, visualizing the idea. Third, manifesting the idea. First we make a decision; then, we use the marvelous function of the mind, the imagination, which I call the workshop of the mind, to visualize this change. Since it is a law that energy follows thought, then when the thoughts are flowing in a positive manner, we get positive results."
She shared her formula for health, beauty, joy, harmony, and richer living through several avenues: writing, private consultations, public lectures, and class work. Dr. Bloodworth referred to her subject matter as Spiritual Psychology, and set for her purpose in teaching the goal of helping humanity, by explaining to people that they can THINK themselves into actually being well, happy, prosperous, and beautiful. In addition she provided helpful suggestions as to how her students might nurture this belief, and thus stay with it, until the desired changes appeared either in form or experience.

The personal affirmation she used to begin her day's activities was this: "I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy." Standing before her mirror, she repeated these words for about ten minutes each day. Evidence of the effectiveness of her belief came to her in many ways. For instance, she discarded her glasses after realizing that her eyes were "whole and perfect, and continually rebuild themselves."

KEY TO YOURSELF was written over a period of several years, along with the demands of her professional practice, which she carried on in her farm home near Kenesaw Mountain.
