Whenever we judge someone, ourselves included, we are unable to feel the love of Spirit.
When
our mind and heart are calm, we can live through any struggle, and we, with
Your (God’s)
help, can turn that struggle into ease. The Value of Prayer
”GOODWILL gives
insight”, and only he who has so conquered his personality that he has but one
attitude of mind, that of goodwill, is possessed of divine insight, and is
capable of distinguishing the true from the false. Thoughts: James Allen
Understanding, compassion, and
forgiveness allow us to move gracefully through life.
If we don't have compassion, we can't
forgive. We can tell ourselves we should forgive and that it would be to our
advantage to forgive, but without the softening of our heart that compassion
brings, we will remain locked and rigid. Whenever we judge someone, ourselves
included, we are unable to feel the love of Spirit.
Understanding leads us to compassion.
The truth is, we are all hurting in different ways and doing the best we know
how. When we have compassion for our humanity, we give ourselves and others
more room. We make allowances for people and understand that sometimes we act
our of ignorance or fear. When we remember the grace we've been given, we are
more gracious with others.
If we are unable to release a limiting
belief, it is because we are still making someone pay, including ourselves. The
way to release this death grip is through forgiveness.
We won't release a limiting belief
until we have a greater understanding of the truth.
If you are finding it difficult to
forgive someone, including yourself, see if you can deepen your understanding
of the situation.
We
must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is
waiting for us. - Joseph Campbell
