The Four Spiritual Laws

Cru, previously known as Campus Crusade for Christ, is an interdenominational Christian organization that promotes evangelism and discipleship in more than 190 countries around the world.

Founded in 1951 at the University of California, Los Angeles by Bill Bright as a ministry for college students, Cru has since expanded its focus to include adult professionals, families, athletes, high school students, and more.

Cru is also the publisher of The Four Spiritual Laws, also known as the "Knowing God Personally Booklet".

Advaita Vedanta

Advaita Vedanta is a school of Hindu philosophy and religious practice, giving "a unifying interpretation of the whole body of Upanishads".

The key source texts for all schools of Vedānta are the Prasthanatrayi, the canonical texts consisting of the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita and the Brahma Sutras, of which they give a philosophical interpretation and elucidation.

I'm in Ontario, which did have some flooding in some Northern towns a while ago but nothing like this in Alberta. I guess we can count our blessings we're safe. And Genna's blog serves as a reminder to always pick yourself up and move forward.

T-30.IV.2:1-7. The wearying, dissatisfying gods you made are blown-up children's toys. A child is frightened when a wooden head springs up as a closed box is opened suddenly, or when a soft and silent woolly bear begins to squeak as he takes hold of it. The rules he made for boxes and for bears have failed him, and have broken his "control" of what surrounds him. And he is afraid, because he thought the rules protected him. Now must he learn the boxes and the bears did not deceive him, broke no rules, nor mean his world is made chaotic and unsafe. He was mistaken.  He misunderstood what made him safe, and thought that it had left.

The TRUTH that Peace Begins At Home.

Clara Berenger ( 1886 –  1956 ) was an American screenwriter of the silent film era and a member of the original faculty of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Baranger would retire from writing pictures in 1934, though she remained a frequent contributor to magazines such as Liberty and Good Housekeeping, and writer of inspirational books.

Within a wide circle of acquaintances and friends, I have found that the only persons who have achieved true inner peace and serenity are those who believe in God and try to live according to the moral principles embodied in the Bible. They recognize the truth that peace begins at home. They know that in order to extend peace from the home to the world they must cultivate habits that create peace. At the same time they must free themselves from old habits that cause inharmony and dissension.

Just What Is New Thought?

In the 19th chapter of Genesis is the story of two angels who came to Sodom and warned Lot to take his wife and daughters and flee from the city before it was consumed by brimstone and fire. The angelic command was: "Look not behind thee." But Lot's wife disobeyed the order and consequently, was turned into a pillar of salt. Salt is a preservative. When we keep our eyes on the past our thinking becomes crystallized, and further growth is prevented.

A short story, "The Necklace” (French: La Parure) by the French writer de Maupassant, illustrates the tragedy that can result from the fault of envy. Mathilde Loisel, a beautiful young matron, is endlessly discontented with her own poor surroundings and envious of those who are rich. Borrowing a diamond necklace from a rich friend to wear to a ball, she loses it and her husband has to go heavily into debt to replace it. It takes ten years o scrimping and drudgery to pay off the debt. And by that time Mathilde is an old hag, hard and coarse.
