How do YOU stop YOUR suffering?

“At this point I noticed that some part of me wanted to hold on to the upset. I had reverted to feeling that Morty was upset. I was so identified with the upset that not having it seemed like an invalidation of me somehow. As soon as I noticed this, I again focused on observing myself having the feeling. As soon as I was able to separate myself from the feeling and watch myself having it, the resistance to finding a way to get rid of it disappeared and the feeling itself diminished in intensity.
Then, as I started looking for the source of the feeling “I” was observing Morty having, the intensity diminished even more. But Morty was still feeling pretty horrible.”

That’s from the Morty Lefkoe post: I was upset today … really upset.
It’s similar to what Jane Woodward wrote in God in a Box, being able to distinguish between the small “i” (ego or Morty) and the “I” of what you really are.

Morty has helped tens of thousands eliminate the cause and not the effect.  I’ve taken two hypnosis courses, in both the emphasis was on treating the effect not the cause.

P.P. Quimby would be proud.

How do YOU stop YOUR suffering?
First, YOU remember that YOU have feelings, but YOU are not YOUR feelings. You are then  able to separate from the “creation” called (your_name_goes_here) and observe them being upset. That perspective significantly lessens the intensity of the negative feelings YOU are experiencing and enables YOU to complete the other steps.
Second, YOU look for the event that immediately preceded the onset of the upset.
Third, then YOU find the meaning YOU had given the event that was responsible for the upset.
Fourth, once YOU make a clear distinction between the event and the meaning, the meaning dissolves along with the feelings that had been caused by the meaning.
The United States elected their president yesterday. That event had no inherent meaning, only what we give it.

I, myself, was disappointed in this Prop 37: Californian voters reject GM food labelling until I realized it had no inherent meaning other than what I was giving it.
Who knows what the future will bring.
Didn't the bible say it's not what goes into your mouth that counts,
it's what comes out that counts.
So, be grateful you have food on your table
and a choice of what you can eat.

The Last Judgment.

This is God's Final Judgment: "You are still My holy Son, forever innocent, forever loving and forever loved, as limitless as your Creator, and completely changeless and forever pure. Therefore awaken and return to Me. I am your Father and you are My Son."

THE STORM

A group of friends rented a mountain cabin for a few days. When an unexpected storm kept them indoors, the first few hours were spent in pleasant conversation. But one man suddenly revealed a deep bitterness by complaining of past mistreatment by people. Surprised by his outburst, the others said little.
Next morning, the complainer asked someone who had just stepped out the door, 'Is it still storming?'
'Not out here.'
“_It is the inner storm which needs attention and correction._"
Vernon Howard

“Reality” is what you see and hear now.
Period.

Money is an outer form of spiritual substance.

Georgiana Tree West(???? ????), a notable Unity author, faced a situation more than 50 years ago that many people face today—physical and financial difficulties.

After visiting a Unity service, an experience she later referred to as unforgettable, West found her spiritual home. She eventually went on to become a Unity minister and author and began applying Unity spiritual principles to her life.

She was ordained in 1935 and wrote Prosperity’s Ten Commandments in 1946. West founded the Unity Center of Practical Christianity in New York City.

In her classic Unity book,
Prosperity's Ten Commandments, West expands the traditional understanding of the Ten Commandments and explains them as guidelines to achieve a happy, prosperous life. These concepts are still pertinent today.

Ten Prosperity Commandments - A ten-part series of prosperity lessons inspired by the Unity book, "Prosperity's Ten Commandments" by Georgiana Tree West, a highly respected metaphysician with keen insight.

NRMs

A new religious movement (NRM) is a religious community or ethical, spiritual, or philosophical group of modern origin, which has a peripheral place within the dominant religious culture. NRMs may be novel in origin or they may be part of a wider religion, in which case they will be distinct from pre-existing denominations.
Although there is no one criterion or set of criteria for describing a group as a "new religious movement," use of the term usually requires that the group be both of recent origin and different from existing religions.
The study of New Religions emerged in Japan after an increase in religious innovation following the Second World War. "New religions" is a calque (a word-for-word translation) of shinshūkyō, which Japanese sociologists coined to refer to this phenomenon. This term, amongst others, was adopted by Western scholars as an alternative to cult. "Cult" had emerged in the 1890s, but by the 1970s it had acquired a pejorative connotation, and was subsequently used indiscriminately by lay critics to disparage groups whose doctrines they opposed.

Francis the Talking Mule and Mister Ed

Francis the Talking Mule was a mule celebrity, featured in seven movie comedies in the 1950s. The character originated in a novel by writer David Stern, and Universal Studios bought the rights for a film series, with Stern adapting his own script for the first entry, simply titled Francis.
The book and series focused on the exploits of Francis, an experienced Army mule, and Peter Stirling, the young soldier whom he befriends (and stays with through civilian life and then back into the military). In the original 1950 film, the mule identifies himself to the commanding general as "Francis...123rd Mule Detachment...[serial number] M52519." Donald O'Connor received top billing as Peter, but the true star was undoubtedly Francis. With a plot device like the later series Mister Ed, Francis would usually only talk to Peter, thus causing problems for his nominal "master." The first six movies were directed by Universal comedy veteran Arthur Lubin, previously known for helming Abbott and Costello vehicles, who would go on to produce and direct Mister Ed for television.
