Edyth Armstrong Hoyt


(1888-1965) was a well-known Bible lecturer who made her home in Kensington, CA. Some of her outstanding writing contributions were various series on the Bible such as: Studies in the Bible, Studies in the Apocalypse of John of Patmos*, and Studies in the Psalms. Mrs. Hoyt emphasized the spiritual revelations in scripture and taught how to distinguish them from the cultural and historical parts of the Bible.

* Although Edyth Armstrong Hoyt was a student of Christian Science, her book makes no mention
of any affiliation with the Christian Science denomination. She presents an outline of how she
taught, in a public university setting, the overall understanding of this book as well as a verse by
verse translation of the Apocalypse.
