“BE” attitudes of the Beatitudes.

A light bulb, the simple ordinary light bulb that we have in our homes, has the potential to radiate the light energy to illuminate a room. If the filament is in order and if the connections are made, and if the electric current is properly plugged in, the light bulb will have light—whether the bulb is big or little, round or square, yellow or white, and no matter how it has been used in the past. It will light, simply because it is, after all, a light bulb.
You can be healed, no matter who you are or what you have been or done, if you make the contact with the “same light that lighteth every man coming into the world"—simply because you are, after all, a child of God. It is as simple as that. And this is the key to the potential dynamics of Christianity. DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN YOU~Eric Butterworth~1968

Truth is within ourselves; it takes no rise

From outward things, whatever you may believe.

There is an inmost center in us all,

Where truth abides in fulness; and around,

Wall upon wall, the gross flesh hems it in,

This perfect, clear perception—which is truth.

A baffling and perverting carnal mesh

Binds it, and makes all error; and to know

Rather consists in opening out a way

Whence the imprisoned splendor may escape,

Than in effecting entry for a light

Supposed to be without.
Robert Browning in his poem “Paracelsus
Christianity is not an end in itself. You cannot complete the work of salvation or enter the Kingdom of Heaven merely by joining a church or professing a creed. What is called “conversion” is not the end of the road. Maybe it is simply finding a road on which to travel. To Jesus, religion was not simply a way of believing or worshipping—it was a way of living. DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN YOU~Eric Butterworth~1968

“Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matt. 5:48).

We all must recognize that it was the Christ within which made Jesus what He was; and our power now to help ourselves and to help others, lies in our comprehending the Truth—for it is a Truth whether we realize it or not—that this same Christ lives within us that lived in Jesus. It is the part of Himself which God has put within us, which ever lives there, with an inexpressible love and desire to spring to the circumference of our being, or to our consciousness, as our sufficiency in all things. How I Used Truth ~H. Emilie Cady~1950

Christ in you is “the true light which lighteth every man, coming into the world” (John 1:9).

The Sermon on the Mount is a well-detailed, well-organized piece of masterful writing (Matthew, chapters 5 through 7). Dr. George Lamsa says that he believes Jesus actually had a carefully prepared manuscript for this particular sermon, and this quite likely fell into the hands of Matthew. The Beatitudes
“BE” attitude
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
I AM OPEN AND RECEPTIVE TO THE INFLOW
AND THE OUTPOURING OF ALL THERE IS IN GOD.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
I AM GRATEFUL FOR CHALLENGES THAT LEAD ME
BEYOND MY EXTREMITY TO GOD’S OPPORTUNITY.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
I AM IN TUNE WITH GOD—THAT WHICH IS
GOD-INSPIRED AND GOD-DIRECTED SHALL PREVAIL
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
I SEEK WITH ALL MY MIND AND HEART,
AND I SHALL FIND.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
I KEEP MY THOUGHTS CENTERED UPON ONLY THOSE THINGS THAT I WANT TO SEE MANIFEST IN MY LIFE.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
I SEE THE WORLD, NOT AS IT IS, BUT AS I AM,
AND I AM IN SPIRITUAL UNITY WITH GOD.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
I AM A CHILD OF GOD AND I ACT LIKE ONE.
I AM A RADIATING CENTER OF PEACE AND LOVE.

Prayer is not something we do to God but to ourselves.
It is not a position but a disposition.
It is not flattery but a sense of oneness.
It is not asking but knowing.
It is not words but feeling.
It is not will but willingness.
The purpose of prayer, then, is to affirm in our consciousness that which is true of God and of our relationship with Him. “In God, I am now a perfect child. I am strong, confident, and capable. I have the ability to do all that needs to be done. I am one with all-sufficient substance, so I am secure and fearless." DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN YOU
