It is our duty to create our own heaven and to live in it.

“At the great heart of humanity there is a great and awful home-sickness which never has been and never can be satisfied with anything less than a clear and vivid consciousness of the indwelling presence of God.”~ H. Emily Cady

What is the Second Coming?

Christ's Second Coming, which is sure as God, is merely the correction of mistakes, and the return of sanity. It is a part of the condition that restores the never lost, and re-establishes what is forever and forever true. It is the invitation to God's Word to take illusion's place; the willingness to let forgiveness rest upon all things without exception and without reserve.
It is the all-inclusive nature of Christ's Second Coming that permits it to embrace the world and hold you safe within its gentle advent, which encompasses all living things with you. There is no end to the release the Second Coming brings, as God's creation must be limitless. Forgiveness lights the Second Coming's way, because it shines on everything as one. And thus is oneness recognized at last. ACIM Lesson 301
Beliefs are the meanings, perceptions or judgements, we give to events or situations that by themselves have to inherent meaning. When learn a belief we have held was a truth but not the Truth we are set free from it. The world has no meaning except what we give it.
Events have no meaning and without meaning attached to an event there is no need for forgiveness to ourselves or anyone else.
We are doing the sculpturing, we are not the sculpture itself.
We are the creator, not the creation.
We are the dreamer, not the dream.
We are the “I AM”.
Lesson 301
And God Himself shall wipe away all tears.
Father, unless I judge I cannot weep. Nor can I suffer pain, or feel I am abandoned or unneeded in the world. This is my home because I judge it not, and therefore is it only what You will. Let me today behold it uncondemned, through happy eyes forgiveness has released from all distortion. Let me see Your world instead of mine. And all the tears I shed will be forgotten, for their source is gone. Father, I will not judge Your world today.

You are the creator not the creation.

I have beliefs, I am not my beliefs.
I have thoughts, I am not my thoughts.
I have feelings, I am not my feelings.
I do things, I am not my actions.
I am the consciousness that creates and then observes my beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Beliefs are the meaning we give (usually) to a series of events. Beliefs are broad generalizations, for example, I am …. People are …. Life is ….
Whatever situation you find yourself in now is the effect and YOUR beliefs were the cause. Quimby would have liked Morty Lefkoe’s work.
As ACIM teaches: You are the DREAMER not the dream. “ As the course also teaches:“I am willing to see _________ differently.” The willingness to change your perception and instead of choosing the ego as your teacher you come more in alignment with the Holy Spirit.
And Morty Lefkoe also says:
There are three ways to “know” something:
1.       First, by understanding it. This is conceptual and involves language and explanation. You can understand that you create your life when someone explains it to you or when you read about it.
2.       Second, by experiencing it. You know you are the creator of your life in a totally different way when you experience it.
3.       Third, by bringing something into existence by creating/distinguishing it. When you distinguish yourself as the creator of your life as distinct from the creation, you know you are the creator of your life in this third way, which cannot even be described.
I create my Beliefs.
My beliefs determine what I do and feel.
Therefore, I create my life and I can change it.
You are not your beliefs,
you are the creator of your beliefs.
You are not your life,
you are the creator of your life.

You must distinguish yourself as the creator instead of the creation you thought you were.
And when you make it real for yourself that who you really are is consciousness,
you will no longer be at the mercy of the effect of the cause, which is whatever has been upsetting you.

Why you don’t need to forgive anyone

In order to forgive you need to have been wronged.  If events have no meaning, wrong exists only in your mind—it is a meaning you give to the other person’s behavior.  No meaning, no wrong.  No wrong, nothing to forgive.
(I’m sure that some readers will think of situations that must have inherent meaning.  See two earlier blog posts that delve deeper into what I mean by events have no meaning and some of the implications of that fact.  http://www.mortylefkoe.com/why-create-meaning/#, http://www.mortylefkoe.com/real-meaning/#)
By the way, just as you don’t need to forgive others because they didn’t do anything “wrong,” so too you also don’t need to forgive yourself for anything because you’ve never done anything that needs forgiveness.  Dissolve the meaning that seems to make forgiveness necessary and there will be nothing left to forgive.

It is not WHO it is WHAT you are that really matters.-- Imelda Octavia Shanklin, Unity

Imelda Octavia Shanklin served at Unity School from 1910 until 1930. Her metaphysical activities embraced lectures, class work, and contributions to magazines and other publications. Her published writings include the following: "Selected Studies" Unity publication of 1921, later translated as "All things Made New" in "key to Life Bookshelf," 1926. "The Lord's Prayer," a Unity pamphlet, 1922. "The Sayings of Jesus Christ," Unity pamphlet, 1923. "Lesson for Young Students," Unity, 1924. "Good Words," a Unity inspirational series. While at Unity, she was editor-in -chief and also editor of Wee Wisdom from 1922 until 1930, at which time she left Unity to devote her time for several years to the preparation of a metaphysical study called "The Cosmic Adventure." This is an analytical study of the Bible, of which one commentator said the "conception of the Dweller, the soul, and the Adventure is both clear and illuminating, adding something important to the understanding of the symbology of the Bible." Her last oral teachings were given in connection with Unity work in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She made her transition in May, 1953 in Viola, Iowa.
