Topics characterized as pseudoscience!(2012 topped the list)

This is a list of topics that have, at one point or another in their history, been characterized as pseudoscience by academics or researchers.[1]
• 2012 millenarianism,
• Nibiru cataclysm(a prediction first made by contactee Nancy Lieder, founder of the website ZetaTalk. Lieder describes herself as a contactee with the ability to receive messages from extra-terrestrials from the Zeta Reticuli star system through an implant in her brain., that a mythological planet Nibiru, would collide with Earth.)
• Channeling.
• Hypnosis as regards to the use of hypnotic regression beyond plausible limits, including past life regression.
• The Bates method for better eyesight
• Brain Gym
• Colon cleansing
• Crystal healing
• Magnet therapy – practice of using magnetic fields to positively influence health. While there are legitimate medical uses for magnets and magnetic fields, the field strength used in magnetic therapy is too low to effect any biological change.
• Meridians –There is no known anatomical or histological basis for the existence of meridians.
• Zecharia Sitchin-– proposed that ancient Sumerian cuneiform suggests that ancient astronauts visited Earth and created human beings through biogenetics. Sitchins claims that these writings tell of a Planet X beyond the dwarf planet Pluto.

This is only a sample. Some of these examples may be the power of suggestion, a false belief planted in the subconscious which may causing an involuntary motor response.

I was wondering whether Muscle Testing had been tested when the operator is blindfolded or when the thing being tested is in a paper bag (cigarettes, pills apples , organics, bottled water etc).
Can muscle testing determine winning lottery tickets?
Do winning lottery tickets have a higher vibration than losing lottery tickets?
Beliefs. Love or leave em, we all have me.
If you’re sick any means you use to get well are acceptable, provided you get well. If after the fact you find out it was due to the power of suggestion be grateful and move on with your life.

Do people who claim to channel make it up?
Do they hear spirit or God?
Or, was there some traumatic experience in their past to cause the belief so their subconscious mind would create one?

This is the greatest secret of life?

Genieve Behrend taught Be-Do-Have which was based on a practical application of ideas propagated by Thomas Troward.

Neville Goddard taught “Ask, believing you have already received and you will receive.” Neville also stressed that we were not separate from God. When he was re-born in 1959 his focus switched to God and he lost listeners.

The “Abraham Teachings” never really dealt with the issue of separation from God.

Again we find Be-Do-Have in “Conversations With God: an uncommon dialogue, Book 3, Page 14-17”. It doesn’t address the issue of being separate from God.

This secret from "The Secret" has it's origins in the Bible, rooted in the fact we are not separate from God.

'There's no mystery about long life in the flesh – only ignorance.'

Harry (Thomas Henry) Gaze (1878 – 1959) was born in Thurlow, Suffolk, UK. He began his lecturing career in San Francisco in 1898, and was ordained by the Divine Science College in Denver in 1945. He married in 1932, and had two sons, one in 1935 and the other in 1940. His wife died in 1940. He had a son and a daughter from a previous marriage, and remarried in 1951.
Dr Gaze had written a book called How to Live Forever, which states, 'There's no mystery about long life in the flesh – only ignorance.' Well, Dr Gaze lectured frequently on his favourite subject – that is, living forever. In 1959 he agreed to give two lectures on physical immortality at Robert H Bitzer's Hollywood Church of Religious Science. He didn’t show up for the second lecture. The attendees were all waiting and wondering where their esteemed lecturer was. Unfortunately, there had been a motor vehicle accident, and Dr Gaze, who had been a passenger en route to the church, would die in the aftermath of that accident. He never gave that second lecture.

Gaze pointed out the lure of "Law of Attraction" to some New Thought proponents. It was a catch-22 situation for many. They were charged with commercialism if you make money and criticism when they fail and got into debt. Never the less, the use of Truth in the business world may bring great results and success when used in the love of being in service. Troward's view of this was "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you." "The Kingdom of Heaven is within vou." - first find God in yourself and you will find Him everywhere else," It is a case of "you press the button- and we do the rest." And, also, the masses love the practical side at the expense of the religious overtones. (Note: I’m still trying to determine when “law of attraction” became “Law of Attraction”.)

Contact with "spirits" is in fact contact with the operator's own subconscious

Thomson Jay Hudson(1834 – 1903) born in Windham, Ohio, USA. He was Chief Examiner of the US Patent Office and a Psychical researcher, known for his three laws of psychic phenomena, which were first published in 1893.
Refusing his father's wish to become a minister of religion, Hudson funded his own study of law at college. He began a law practice in Port Huron, Michigan, but, in 1860, he began a journalistic career instead; and, in 1866, unsuccessfully ran for the US Senate. From 1877 till 1880 he was Washington Correspondent for the Scripps Syndicate[1]. In 1880 he accepted a position in the US Patent Office, and was promoted to Principal Examiner of a Scientific Division, a post he held until the publication of his remarkable book The Law of Psychic Phenomena in 1893.
He wrote and lectured on this subject until his death from heart failure in 1903.
Thomson Jay Hudson began observing hypnotism shows and noticed similarities between hypnosis subjects and the trances of Spiritualist mediums. His idea was that any contact with "spirits" was in fact contact with the medium's or the subject's own subconscious. Anything else could be explained by telepathy, which he defined as contact between two or more subconscious’s. (Mind reading.)
Hudson postulated that his theory could explain all forms of spiritualism, and had a period of popularity until the carnage of the First World War caused a fresh interest in spiritualism again as psychic mediums emerged to meet the demands of grieving relatives.

Eustace Hamilton Miles (1868 – 1948) was a British real tennis player and all round athlete who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics.

Commitment, the acid test of forgiveness

Forgiveness may be considered simply in terms of the person who forgives including forgiving themselves, in terms of the person forgiven or in terms of the relationship between the forgiver and the person forgiven.

If you have truly forgiven someone, you will remember the incident, but will no longer feel the sting or hurt. This is the acid test of forgiveness. You must meet it psychologically and spiritual. Otherwise you are simple deceiving yourself. You are not practicing the art of true forgiveness.

To Understand All Is to Forgive All

Once you understand the creative law of your own mind, you stop blaming other people and conditions for making or marring your life. You realize that your own thoughts and feelings create your destiny. Furthermore, you are aware that externals are not the causes and conditioners of your life and your experiences. To think that others can mar your happiness, that you are the football of a cruel fate, that you must oppose and fight others for a living-all these ideas reveal their destructive nature once you understand that thoughts are things.
This principle is clearly set forth in the Bible:
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7; King James)
The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
Rev. Joseph Murphy

I was reminded of that today. I received an email: “If only we … If only you … “.
The reality is “What is IS”
No pain, no shame, no regrets.
Commitment
Although it's not always easy,
this is part of loving someone
unconditionally
with all your heart and
with all you have to give!

It's a promise that should last a lifetime.

It
describes you as a person
and
describes the essence of your soul.

It's a promise to be there,
one for the other,
no matter what happens,
no matter who falls.

For better or for worse.

For better
or
for worse.
