Perhaps it is difficult for you to realize a phase of life which consists entirely of companionship through Awareness. Did you ever see a little company of children at play, or a child, alone as far as your vision goes, amusing itself talking and laughing with some familiar childish spirit which is as real to it as a fleshly playmate could be? The child may have a stick of wood with a rag wrapped around it, and you may hear it addressing it something after this fashion: "Now, Ethel, you've got the loveliest silk gown you ever saw, trimmed with real lace and all covered with frills and beads. You have on the loveliest silk stockings and white kid slippers that I could buy, and your lovely blonde hair curls just beautifully. What lovely blue eyes you have, and such pretty teeth, and such del-i-cate hands! You're the loveliest lady in the land, and we're going to a ball right now !" And the youngster dances around with the doll or stick of wood, and it responds to her as completely as if it were alive. The youngster has simply fixed a Point of Rightness for the doll, and it thinks back to her from this Point of Rightness ; it does not speak, but she does they are both on the same plane.

A little company of children are arranging something to play. A masterful little boy asserts: "I'm a millionaire and have just paid a million dollars for a yacht, and I'll take you all out for a cruise. (Chorus of children: 'Oh, isn't he rich!') Isn't it fine sailing away out of sight of land! ('I hope it won't storm pipes a little voice.) It won't matter” cries the boy. "This ship doesn't rock. What's that I see out there? It's an island, and that over there is a sail! Aha!" cries the little captain, "it's a pirate! ('Will the pirate catch us?' whisper the children in terror.) I'm afraid he will," cries the captain, "before we can make land." Instantly the scene changes, and the awareness of the children changes to the new Point of Rightness fixed in them by their leader. "You are all drownded," he cries, "and lying on the sand of the island! (Instantly the children drop on the lawn and stretch themselves out as if dead.) The pirate caught us and threw us all overboard, and I rescued you and brought you to this island, but you're all drownded. Lie still! ('Hurry up whispers a little voice; 'I don't like to be drownded.') Never mind," shouts the lad; "I've been and bought a new yacht for two million dollars, and now I'll bring you all to and we'll start off again." The little fellow had the power of fixing a Point of Rightness in the Supraconsciousnesses of his childish playmates, and they had not become sufficiently materialized to find any difficulty in being just the persons and in the conditions he asserted them to be. They had not yet received those hard jolts which are almost sure to cause us in later life to demand an objectivity of our thoughts which we can sense. In other words, their thoughts instantly became Things, regardless of the fact that they could sense nothing in their environment to confirm their awareness; for the moment they and the things about them became what they thought they were; they were living on a spiritual plane, and their bodies and the things about them became unreal, while their thoughts, as in truth they were, became reality.

"Except ye become as little children ye can in no wise enter the Kingdom of Heaven" (Harmony), says the Great Philosophy. Till you cultivate your Awareness to the extent of making real things that are not material, ye cannot enter the State of Harmony. The things we so much prize Here and Now and the senses by which we appreciate them are but shadows of the real things of life and the Awareness which will make senses unnecessary.

SHEPPARD, EDMUND ERNEST, journalist and author; b. 29 Sept. 1855 in South Dorchester Township, Elgin County, Upper Canada, only son of Edmund Sheppard and Nancy Bently; m. 8 Oct. 1879 Melissa Culver in Mapleton, Ont., and they had one son and three daughters; d. 6 Nov. 1924 near San Diego, Calif. He apparently dropped out and headed down to Texas and Mexico, reportedly spending several years as a cowboy and stagecoach driver. After his return to Canada in 1878 he regularly affected the cowboy style: a slouch hat, fine Spanish leather riding boots, string tie, handlebar moustache, and goatee. His penchant for chewing tobacco and strong drink probably also dated from those years in the southwest.

Back in Ontario, he turned to journalism, first in London and St Thomas and then with the Toronto Daily Mail. He was appointed editor-in-chief of Toronto Evening News in 1883. Saturday Night first appeared in Toronto on 3 December 1887 as a 15 x 20-inch weekly paper that sold for five cents, and had a healthy initial circulation of about 10,000. Editor Edmund E. Sheppard announced the broadsheet as a “paper of today” that would be devoted largely to literature and current topics, avoiding controversy except to “have its remarks to make about politics and politicians, and in a breezy yet thoughtful way” would “point out the follies and foibles of those who assume so much and do so little.”

The Rich Mentality

Some twenty-five years ago, when I took my first primary course of lessons, but one mighty thought remained fully mine at its close. In the newness of the idea, I had lost sight of the many , explanations given, while retaining clearly this one substance thought, "Only the good is real." This I ardently concentrated upon and practiced for the benefit of myself and others, almost without a break, for six months. Every horse, dog, cat, as well as person or experience, I came in contact with during that period, was blessed with this understanding of its real nature, until the thought became a fixed, abiding consciousness and substance for hundreds of future demonstrations. Again and again has this statement risen spontaneously from its hidden depths in the sub-conscious storehouse of my mind, to meet successfully the mortal claims of fear, distress, danger, pain and temptation.

One instance will show what a friend such a power will prove in time of need. One night, but recently, returning home late from a lecture, a large dog, suffering apparently from madness, rushed furiously at me from the opposite side of the street. His mouth was wide open to bite and his hair stood on end while his eyes flashed fire. Wisdom guided me to stand still and affirm the protecting power of the All-Good silently. The change was instantaneous; it had a wonderful effect upon the dog, for just as he sprang to bite, his mouth closed, his eyes softened and looked the apology he could not speak, his tail fell between his legs in fright, and he turned and ran away rapidly as one who is ashamed. In thanksgiving and praise it occurred to me that not only had my immediate thought protected me, but that back of it lay the power of those many true words spoken to dogs in the long ago.

Marcel Joseph Vogel (1917–1991) was a research scientist working at the IBM San Jose Advanced Systems Development Division Los Gatos Lab (actually located in San Jose) for some 27 years. He is sometimes referred to as Dr. Vogel, this title was an honorary doctoral degree, Ph.D..


It is claimed that Vogel started his research into luminescence while he was still in his teens. Luminescence is emission of light by a substance not resulting from heat; it is thus a form of cold body radiation. It can be caused by chemical reactions, electrical energy, subatomic motions, or stress on a crystal.

He received numerous patents for his inventions during this time. Among these was the magnetic coating for the 24” hard disc drive systems still in use. His areas of expertise were phosphor technology, liquid crystal systems, luminescence, and magnetics.

But it is not his scientific but his work with Spirit, his great spiritual strength, his wonderful capacity to love that were his legacy.

Through Vogel, his students began to learn the process of transmitting thought, especially loving thoughts, unconditionally, to their patients. It brought an even greater capacity to appreciate the power of the mind to influence illness, the power both to heal and exacerbate disease. And, most important all, to appreciate the incredible presence of unconditional love and it’s capacity to trigger transformative shifts in a patient’s psyche.

He was able to duplicate the Backster effect [1] of using plants as transducers for bio-energetic fields that the human mind releases, demonstrating that plants respond to thought. He used split leaf philodendrons connected to a Wheatstone Bridge that would compare a known resistance to an unknown resistance. He learned that when he released his breath slowly there was virtually no response from the plant. When he pulsed his breath through the nostrils, as he held a thought in mind, the plant would respond dramatically. It was also found that these fields, linked to the action of breath and thought, do not have a significant time domain to them. The responsiveness of the plants to thought was also the same whether eight inches away, eight feet, or eight thousand miles! Based on the results of the experiments the inverse square law does not apply to thought. This was the beginning of Vogel’s transformation from being a purely rational scientist to becoming a spiritual or mystical scientist.

Basically it was found that plants respond more to the thought of being cut, burned, or torn than to the actual act. He discovered that if he tore a leaf from one plant a second plant would respond, but only if he was paying attention to it. The plants seemed to be mirroring his own mental responses. He concluded that the plants were acting like batteries, storing the energy of his thoughts and intentions. He said of these experiments:

“I learned that there is energy connected with thought. Thought can be pulsed and the energy connected with it becomes coherent and has a laser-like power.”

He discovered that the greatest cohering agent is love. To Vogel, love was a pure force. He likened it to gravity, an attracting and cohering force present at every level of existence.

[1] Plant perception or biocommunication may denote not only that plants are sentient - they can certainly communicate through chemical signals and have complex responses to stimuli - but that may respond to humans in a manner that amounts to ESP and that may be interpreted as experience of pain and fear.
The notion that plants are capable of feeling emotions was first recorded in 1848, when Dr. Gustav Theodor Fechner, a German experimental psychologist, suggested that plants are capable of emotions and that one could promote healthy growth with talk, attention, and affection.
Indian scientist Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose began to conduct experiments on plants in the year 1900. He found that every plant and every part of a plant appeared to have a sensitive nervous system and responded to shock by a spasm just as an animal muscle does. In addition Bose found that plants grew more quickly amidst pleasant music and more slowly amidst loud noise or harsh sounds. He also claimed that plants can "feel pain, understand affection etc.," from the analysis of the nature of variation of the cell membrane potential of plants under different circumstances. According to him, a plant treated with care and affection gives out a different vibration compared to a plant subjected to torture.
Bose's experiments stopped at this conclusion, but Cleve Backster an Interrogation Specialist with the CIA, conducted research that led him to believe that plants can communicate with other lifeforms. Backster's interest in the subject began in February 1966 when he tried to measure the rate at which water rises from a philodendron's root into its leaves. Because a polygraph or 'lie detector' can measure electrical resistance, which would alter when the plant was watered, he attached a polygraph to one of the plant's leaves. Backster stated that, to his immense surprise, "the tracing began to show a pattern typical of the response you get when you subject a human to emotional stimulation of short duration".

UFOs and the New Age movement phenomenon of ‘walk-ins’.

Williamson invented the concept of 'walk-ins,' who he called 'The Wanderers.' Walk-ins are normal humans who are actually (unknown to themselves) reincarnated 'Space Brothers.'

Silent Treatment

The process known as "silent treatment" operates directly through the sub-consciousness[mind] of the patient, and the changes made disclose themselves in the mental atmosphere[mind]. The healer is thus able to see what his work is accomplishing and to perceive the forthcoming changes long before the patient becomes aware of them. There seems to have been a pronounced demarcation from the early teachings of some of the New Thought teachers and churches when it comes to healing.

In reality we are all dreaming; when man fully awakens he knows that planets are thoughts, suns and moons are thoughts, and his own consciousness is the space which sustains them all. He begins to realize that the whole world is a thought. For example, he becomes aware of the fact that the body is not real, but it is a thought or idea held in consciousness. The body has no life apart from consciousness. He realizes that there is absolutely no reality to matter or the body of man; it is a group of ideas and opinions. Man gives life to ideas and opinions as long as he believes them. When he disbelieves the errors, these ideas have no life in them.What has transpired is all a dream, a dream of the unreality.
