Do
not, however, let your thought go out in an attempt to heal the
world. That would only be an attempt to change the dream picture,
since war, depression, and accidents are not realities. Do not use
your mind or your thought or your spiritual powers trying to patch up
the illusion. Become one with God—and stay on that level of
consciousness. Do this as many times as you can in the day, and as
many times as you can during the night. Get the feeling of God's
presence. Soon the illusion will be dispelled. Let this understanding
reveal the illusory nature of that which appears as war, depression,
or accident. Stop looking at the illusion and trying mentally to
juggle it out of existence! Learn the meaning of
"Agree with thine adversary." To agree with your adversary
means not to fight or try to change the mortal picture. It means to
understand immediately that it is not a reality. That is your
agreement.
Jesus
did not deny crucifixion, nor did he audibly assert, "I am not
afraid of Pilate." He did not "handle the error" of
crucifixion, or "affirm freedom." He turned from both
crucifixion and freedom, and declared God to be the only power acting
in the consciousness of man, even of Pilate. "'Thou couldest
have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from
above."
Jesus
did not ask God to "protect" him from Pilate‘s power. He
did not say that Pilate had no power. He agreed that Pilate had
power, but it was the power that was given him by God. Do you see the
difference? We have here a new and higher concept of treatment and of
living. Jesus did not deny that Judas would betray him. He proved,
rather, that betrayal was not a power or a reality. He did not deny
lack or limitation when he had only a few loaves and fishes with
which to feed five thousand. He lifted his consciousness above that
scene and realized God‘s presence, the presence of Allness, and It
fed the multitudes. Jesus looked up and thanked the Father for that
which is the presence of God. Since God is infinite being, he was
thanking God for the infinity of loaves and fishes.
Never
use your understanding to change, alter, correct, improve, or heal
the human scene. Lift your consciousness. Look up to the Father above
the human scene. Realize God‘s allness and then witness that
Allness as fulfillment. How do we realize Allness? The moment you
lift your thought to God, you have lifted it to Infinity. There is no
such thing as limitations once you lift your thought to Consciousness
which is God. Neither is there matter, nor sin, nor disease, nor
discord. Only in the degree that you can look up and behold the face
of God, can you see that all that emanates from God is good—eternal
life, immortal Spirit, divine reality, peace, joy, power, and
dominion.

LIFTING
OF CONSCIOUSNESS

T-20.II.6. This Easter, look with different eyes upon your brother.
T-19.IV.D.17. Give faith to your brother, for faith and hope and mercy
are yours to give. Into the hands that give, the gift is given. Look
on your brother, and see in him the gift of God you would receive. It
is almost Easter, the time of resurrection. Let us give redemption to
each other and share in it, that we may rise as one in resurrection,
not separate in death. Behold the gift of freedom that I gave the Holy
Spirit for you. And be you and your brother free together, as you
offer to the Holy Spirit this same gift. And giving it, receive it of
Him in return for what you gave. He leadeth you and me together, that
we might meet here in this holy place, and make the same decision.
