When peace comes at last to those who
wrestle with temptation and fight against the giving in to sin; when the light
comes at last into the mind given to contemplation, or
when the goal is finally achieved by anyone, it ALWAYS comes with just one
happy realization;“I need do nothing. ” To DO anything involves the body. And if you recognize you NEED do
nothing, you have withdrawn the body’s value from your mind. To do nothing is
to rest, and make a place within you where the activity of the body ceases to
demand attention. Into this place the Holy Spirit comes, and there abides. He
will remain when you forget, and the body’s activities return to occupy your
conscious mind.
"Where is the headache? The headache is within the person suffering from the headache. So where must he look in order to understand the headache? Within himself. A basic cause of his headache is his belief that the unnecessary is necessary, for example, that he must prove himself to others. But whatever the cause, the cure cannot come by blaming others or by generously supplying aspirin tablets to other people with headaches. The man with the headache is the one who must look to and cure his headache." VH
Exactly what Thomas Hora, David V Bush, Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, Emma Curtis Hopkins and others have said.
”What the ego cannot
lift with all its might is like a feather to the Grace of God.” Dr.David R. Hawkins
Forgive, and you will see this differently. These are the words the Holy Spirit speaks in all your tribulations, all your pain, all suffering regardless of its form. These are the words with which temptation ends, and guilt, abandoned, is revered no more. These are the words which end the dream of sin, and rid the mind of fear. These are the words by which salvation comes to all the world.
I will forgive, and this will disappear. To every apprehension, every care and every form of suffering, repeat these selfsame words. And then you hold the key that opens Heaven's gate, and brings the Love of God the Father down to earth at last, to raise it up to Heaven. God will take this final step Himself. Do not deny the little steps He asks you take to Him.
Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. Luke 23:43
(Etheridge) BUT Jeshu himself said, Father,
forgive them; for they know not what they do. [Aba shebuk lehun, lo gir yodin mono obdin.] And they divided his garments, and cast for them lots.
(Murdock)
And Jesus said: Father, forgive them; for they know
not what they do. And they divided his garments, casting a lot upon them.
(Lamsa)
And Jesus said, O Father, forgive them, for they
know not what they are doing. And they divided his garments and cast lots over
them.
(KJV)
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they
know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
This is makes for a pretty good catch all for the true spirit of forgiveness.
A friend said the second part means it's a sin to gamble. That isn't necessarily true. It wasn't just about forgiving those who had nailed him to the cross, it was realizing they didn't know their true spiritual nature otherwise they wouldn't have been doing it. It was simply an error. Although I doubt the Holy Spirit gives lotto advice any more than it hands out phone numbers. Life is a dream and anything can happen.
